Best thing about the fourth goal was I had no doubht he would score when clean through , haven't felt like that about one of our players for ages, even Hernandez.

In the North stand, we had the best angle, it was a perfect tackle and the ball went to a free City forward (maybe Dio, so not that exciting). My immediate (loud) reaction was 'Great tackle', but then followed by oh **** you cant do that nowadays. It was seriously a thing of beauty, up there with a David Gower cover drive, a Glenn Hoddle 30 yard pass. Totally 100% the ball, stayed on his feet, but strong and because it might hurt the other player, these are deemed dangerous. The refs body language suggested he agreed appreciating a fantastic piece of skill, but reluctantly had to book him. It epitomised what the game has become.

He just seems so confident doesn't he, never in doubt with either goal.

His second goal was great. A second before the cross came in, he just holds his run outside of the six yard box and watches the defenders rush to the goal. Something easily overlooked.

Or encourage (through pricing) the dangerously crowded North standers to move into the ridiculously empty East stand. If I wanted to cause maximum carnage in a crowded place, I would target North stand concourse at half time. The stampede alone doesn't bear thinking about.

How do you know they're scouts? Do they always wear a flat cap?

You are obviously like me, enjoy the beauty of a good tackle nearly as much as a goal. That's why I always liked Alex Bruce, as he was probably the last of a dying breed, who can actually tackle, but as you saying it has become a no no in the game which is a shame.

In the first half, he outpaced the defender, got to the byline on the left, put in a perfect cross along the 6 yard line. Dio just wasn't on the same wavelength. Should have been bread and butter for a striker.

Totally agree, and Alex was very skilled at it, he rarely mistimed.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but thought Larsson looked no worse than Clucas had for us. I know Bolton were ****e but along with Meyler they absolutely dominated the midfield.

    Is that a compliment?

I thought he looked great yesterday. Never stopped running, was always available for an easy pass and not afraid to play a difficult ball. It gives Slutsky a major headache with Toral, possibly Irvine coming in and Stewart back from injury.

He did some good things, but some were appalling. That shot over the bar, he had strayed offside anyway, which was shocking for a forward. He failed to anticipate a cross from Bowen across the 6 yard box, which really was telegraphed. I just thought it was confidence and that goal would get him going. I just don't rate him.

I may have replied to your wrong post, this was re Dio

I thought the same, Larsson had a very good game, still has the quality even though he might have lost a bit of pace.

Was it Larsson who cut the ball out and played the ball for one of our goals?

Won the ball and chipped it over for Grosicki's goal.

I've just read Parkinson's comments. He didn't even dive in, it was close to a modern tackle, just putting a 'very strong' foot in. And I thought I was relatively sober. Maybe had my 'Meyler is God' glasses on.
Incidentally, anyone notice the first two (?) goal celebrations? Groziski slowly trotting back to the half way line and celebrating on his own. Meyler was very obvious in dragging celebrating other players towards him and later making sure he was included. Won't be a city player by next week.
