I agree with this. It feels like 2 or 3 of the play off places will be out of Leeds/Southampton/West Brom/Ipswich but I don’t really see anyone else really staking a claim for the last one.

The way we keep consistently picking up points and rarely going on a long non-winning run means we are in as good a position as any to grab 6th.

It feels like the team that compliments their squad the best in January out of the ones remaining in the top half will get it. Hope it’s us.

Those clubs have greater expectation and pressure on them then us, we'll be stronger with Philogene and Sharpe, we can finish higher then some of them.

Looks like a 9 horse race for 6th place to me at least. Only 5 points separate 6th & 14th with 63 points available for each team. Tight's the word ?

Kalman can’t have read this yet, otherwise he’d be all over it like a rash but you could be right. It’ll be interesting to see what happens when Seri is away at Afcon, presumably Morton takes over that role and I guess Slater drops in next to him, although he may still be needed at left back?

Anyone else spot the drone circling the pitch last night before kickoff. Wondered if it was for the club and if any footage was available.

They came out with the Kappa tops on, presume it was filming a Kappa promo?

Yes, but it’s been 5ish points for a while now, despite us losing 4 out of the last 7. They are going to have to take advantage of it sooner or later to be actually in with a chance of 6th

It feels more likely that we'll click and go on a winning run than that we'll combust and drop away, but who knows..

Im not sure I’m confident we’ll do either. I suspect we’ll continue as we have been - consistently picking up points. It may or may not be enough.

Guess we'll see. I look at players like Morton and Delap becoming more consistent and reliable, Connolly having the best strike record in the league (in terms of minutes per goal) and Philogene to come back, not to mention whatever business we do in January. The games we've lost recently have largely been our own doing rather than the opposition out-witting us (despite what some claim) which suggests it's in our hands to improve our form.

Philogene will be like having a new signing if we can get him back by end January...

Macca is absolutely miles better in a defensive 3 than a 2.

I think you could well be right. At the same time we’ve got a young squad who aren’t used to tight run ins or maintaining too much form, I wouldn’t be surprised if we continue to be consistent in terms of point totals but inconsistent with performances on the pitch.

Either way, I’m really enjoying this season. It’s quite fun having hope over expectation and seeing it regularly met.

I'm just enjoying being pretty much safe by New Year and looking forward to the second half of the season without looking precariously at the bottom 3. Feels like a while since that has been the case

At this level - Adkins last season I guess? Although, at New Year under Grant we would have thought we were basically safe..
