Would be interesting to know what is their reason then for not attending now. Most of the posters on here seem to give the Allams or the price hike as their reason for none attendance. By the way, in my case, it is because of the Allams.
I know - that was our third season in the championship - I'd expect us to fall even further if we were here another couple of seasons - people have got used to better football now - even though we're doing ok, some of the football has been poor and the atmosphere even worse - hardly first class entertainment - maybe the flashing floodlights will get the fans back
I nearly didn't renew because I didn't fancy watching championship football but the decision was taken out of my hands.
The posters that aren't going any more on here are naturally more likely to give those reasons than those that aren't on here. 1) by coming on here to start with there was more likely to be a long term interest than a "ooh look they're in the PL" factor, so we were less likely than the overall crowd for that to be why we'd stopped going. 2) if you'd stopped going to games because we got relegated, would you still be going on a forum to post and be explaining that's why, or would you have walked away completely?
Most of the people I know don't read this board for a variety of reasons, and they don't tend to have a single narrow reason for not going, it's more a broad collection of separate things that, together, mean they haven't bothered getting a pass. The degeneration of the matchday experience is possibly the larger single one, and that in itself has differing reasons behind it. In my view, it's a mistake to think that some on here repeating the same issues are representative of the fan base as a whole. It tends to be the same posters that make the points, and they can be misleading, or quoting a few people on other social media sites as though that's representative. Most people grumbling at our £23 pass price will pay £30+ at away grounds, so maybe price is a convenient reason, rather than the ultimate one for some.
Half six in Clarendon, cpl o pints, chippy to walk down with, footie, cpl more pints in Clarendon on the way home....perfec night, oh and a win ha ha
That's spot on I think I didn't renew, and was nothing to do with cost It was very much what the As are doing ....but I have to say I'm finding it a struggle not going and I think I will be going to home matches again soon. I have to say I very quickly filled the time on a Saturday, but as everyone knows it's not the same. I've done a few away games ( that was my alternative) but it's been a lot more difficult than I thought with work etc. the fact the As aren't there definitely helps me think about going back too So there you go...I still think football in general is ****ed, but I may well still go regardless because I've never liked football anyway...im just a City fan (It will feel weird though )
Bollocks, we didn't play brilliantly, we were promoted because others let themselves down. Excellent getting up, but look back at that and the following season. Mediocrity ruled, despite the budget.
You been drinking and looking for a quarrel? Okay, if you say so, your version of events is the only one we can consider. Stalking; are you Dutch?
I think it's fairly obvious that some aren't going because of price (some who can't afford it, but many who simply resent the price increase), some aren't going because they refuse to give the Allams any money and some who simply aren't enjoying the match day experience as much as they once did. We'll never know how many fall into each category.
It's obvious some are not going, adding anything beyond that is pure guesswork. I simply mentioned the people I know personally that have stopped going, and I can't think of any where the price hike is the main reason, and only a few where the Allams are a significant factor.
I reckon most can't afford it, or they just grew tired of the dull defensive football on offer until recently. The Brum game was about 1500 up on Ipswich so it looks like people are being selective and the midweek result also suggested Saturday's game would be more entertaining than usual.
This happens quite often with TigersPlayer. It takes the best part of two days for the website to upload the full match replay but then when it is finally uploaded the time given for its upload is bollocks - around a day earlier than reality. The site now says the full replay was uploaded yesterday at 12 noon but last night I took a screenshot and it definitely hadn't been uploaded. The latest thing uploaded when I took the screenshot about 7 last night was video of the goals. Busted! please log in to view this image
Looking at the crowd scene after Meyler scores; there's one bloke towards the bottom left corner in a flat cap and scarf with a miserable expression and both hands firmly stuffed in his pockets. Could that be anyone we know?
