Back to yesterday's game. For the first time in a while I left a game feeling very impressed by what I had seen through the majority of the game. The midfield two of Meyler and Livermore is working a treat at the moment and is allowing us to pose a much greater attacking threat. Greggsy looks to have his confidence back and Clucas, Dave and Akpom look to be settling into the side well. It was a touch disappointing not to add to the goals in the second half but, pleasingly, I felt we largely controlled the second half and still created some attacks as well as keeping out in form opponents. The second half showed both our defensive and attacking abilities. The side looks to be clicking together and, unless there are injuries, I hope Bruce doesn't start tinkering with team selections.

The away fans are admirers? They must be as without them our crowds would be under 16,000.

A geezer in my local, when he found out I was a City supporter, said: "Isn't that the one where the owners are pissing on their shoes?" <laugh>

I'm sure Brucey said he'd got a slight strain, and was brought off for safety.

I think he said he picked up an injury in the last game and that he started still feeling it. Sensible substitution.

He makes me nervous, on Tuesday night he looked more like a wrestler than a footballer.

Yep, which people dont realise when they say get such and such on from the Ressies. Harry's by far the best player on the pitch for the Ressies but first team football is so much more demanding mentally.

I still like him and hope he grows into it, with a bit more confidence he should be ok.

I do think that stems from not getting much competitive football. With four centre backs I imagine he will get a chance at some point this season, and I think he is more than good enough at this level.

We are starting to look like we have the right balance. When we played Livermore, Huddlestone and Diame in the same team it didn't work, there was so little balance where as yesterday we played as a team. On paper Huddlestone and Diame might get in our best team, but for whatever reason it doesn't work on the pitch. Partnerships are starting to form and work together and I hope we don't break them up, we need to settle into a system and get some consistency with the team selection.

So how come its gone down by 6,000? Last time we got relegated to the Championship we only lost 3,000 fans. And that was with a much worse team than this one.

We said ages ago that crowds woyld seriously suffer this season. Now even when the numbers are there in front of us you're insisting it's just a natural effect of getting relegated even though it's twice as many as last time. We said it'd happen...

Crowds have gone back to what they were before the two years in the PL. The first one under Bruce. We played briliant and still didnt get 20,000.

I agree, 100%, the only concern that I have is that when we lose our next game will Bruce see that as the perfect excuse to put Huddlestone back in?

I say this because the last time that Huddlestone was out for any period of time, last Christmas when he manufactured himself a four game break, our results picked up, two wins and two draws from memory, yet Bruce appeared to be totally oblivious to this and put him back in with the obvious subsequent downturn in form and results, finally leading to our relegation.

As Tickler would say, TWT, however I'm not yet convinced that Bruce sees Huddlestone as a problem, I think that he thinks he just needs a rest, and that he'll then come back firing on all the cylinders that he's never ****ing fired on.
