Aluko and Macshane should both have scored with thier headers Granted they should have had 6/7 but we still had chances or didn't you watch ???
After a defeat against the form team of the PL aided by two deflections, ratings of 4, 5 and 6 with 2 7s. Rovers get mullered 60-0 and get 6 and 7s with an 8 for a player who "put in the big minutes" (whatever the **** that is supposed to mean). No objections to the low ratings some of our players got but another example of how the HDM has reporters who are fans of the teams reporting on rugby who cannot bear to tell it as it is regarding how hopeless they are.
It's the inconsistency of luck and performance that knocks us back constantly. Two deflections were cruel, but the circumstances that lead to them were poor, from players who played so bloody well last time out. Arsenal are an excellent footballing team and we were always up against it, but we did our best to flatter them. Not much we can do about the luck, but the slack-arsed on the ball approach of Hudds and Liver needs a serious kick up the arse; Macca also needs to read the ball better as we can't afford that daft defending from here on in. Great to see Jelly back. Put that behind us and on to Satdee.
So where abouts was this in the ground? I couldn't see it at all from where I was. I did see two other banners being waved, also to show respect and condolences.
The original plan was to have one in the North and one in the South(behind the goals), but it ended up with just one in the East and it wasn't visible when the ground was full(it was around E8).
I did wonder about that when you said it was going where our banners are. I'd spoken to the club recently and they seemed confident our banners would be where they are. The visibility is always a problem, it's why I think we've been fortunate to get the positions we have.
That is all very good but the club totally ignored the deaths of two of our own players recently. Namely Ian Hesford and Jimmy McGill.
Brucey, as honest as usual. He just fell short of saying publicly that Huddlestone let the side down, and he did, big style. Yes Livermore didn't have one of his best games but if he wasn't 100% fit then that's more understandable, but the way that Huddlestone dwelt on the ball to lose possession, in such an important game as well, was, for me, unforgivable. Personally I'd have him out of the starting eleven on Saturday as I'm sure that Burnley will see him as our weak link, and will press him like he's never been pressed before. Unfortunately I think Brucey will start him, I just hope that he's capable of repaying not only the faith that Bruce is showing in him but also the debt from last night!
There were at least two Mertens banners. One in the North and one in the South East corner. Both the same design. Speaking of the midfield, Meyler did well when he came on and Quinn had a good game too. Wonder if they'll both play?
