And what would we get for Davies? The same 5 mill bonus as Norwich for Snods, more?

You think we'd get £8.5m+ for Davies at the end of the coming season, providing he doesn't sign an extension? Cuckoo.

Why not? Especially with England's centre backs performances in Brazil he's in with a better chance of a call up. Besides didn't we pay 2.5 mil for him? + 5 = 7.5!

Norwich allegedly paid £1.5-2m for Snodgrass making a £6m profit if reports that we're paying £8m are correct. You asked/suggested we could make more. He'll be 30 by the end of the coming season.

Livermore is more comparable to Snodgrass because he's a similar age to Snodgrass was when he signed for Norwich. The question I posed was simple. If we go down, as Norwich have, & sell Livermore would we collect a similar profit. I don't believe we would as we have heavily overpaid.

Yes but the Beano comic does not count. Even a tick ****** like you should be able to understand that.

Then again you think that Steve Bruce will sign up Dan Dare as a striker.<doh>

Get a grown up to explain how football works to you. Now run along Mr Sicko the Thicko.:emoticon-0119-puke:

Your logic is flawed Ben, players adapt and improve, and their value increases in tandem. A good player to use as an example is evertons Seamus Coleman. They paid 50k for him, say they were to sell him at £5 to us, which would be an absolute bargain price for him, they have made in return 100 times what they spent on him initially. Now buying him at £5 would be an absolute steal, bargain of the century in fact. It wouldn't be bad business because we were unlikely to see the same level of return on him Everton did, which would mean selling him at £500,000,000.00

Whilst I don't disagree that we've overspent on Snotarse, they bought the raw product at a younger age and spent time developing him into the player he is now, we are now buying the finished product at his full potential value.

Edit: I don't even know why I've just posted that as I know exactly what you're up to <laugh>

    ****.

Is it possible to have a new sticky thread on City transfer news that each day has a post that provides a few bullet points about the day's key happenings? Every day we have pages of arguing to go through to find any actual news. Just a thought.

£5 for Coleman would certainly be a steal.

    He helped me with it.

£5m that was supposed to be, obviously.

I know. From the point you made.

Norwich took Splodgeass when he was 24, developed him & made a profit on resale after relegation.

Will we, if relegated, make a profit on Livermore as Norwich have? We have also taken him at 24 & should therefore be looking to develop & do the same. I fear the price we've paid will prevent this.

According to RH Snodgrass transfer will not be concluded this week, but early next, but they understand there is no major problems just ironing out the finer details.

It depends on what type of season Jake has. If he has a stunning season yes, we could sell him for 12mill. If he has a poor season, we won't sell him./ You have to remember he is only 24 and footballers don't reach their alleged peak until they are about 27

If he has a stunning season we probably wouldn't get relegated & therefore his stock value would increase. If we go down not selling him may not be an option.
