if its Fletcher we are after, I'd rather bank the money and go with what we have, imo there's no way he would improve the squad, we have player's that are better than him, here at city already,
Anyone think this season may be spent converting Brady into a striker? When you think about it, he has all the same attributes as Long, he could be a like for like replacement, but he's also better with the ball so after a bit of time and work could turn out to be a massive improvement. Would also explain the possible move for Fuchs to give some extra depth down the left.
Completely agree, I'd much rather we took a gamble on Guidetti at £3m or preferably Vincent Aboubakar. From the little I've seen of him he looks impressive, big, strong, quick and scored a fair few goals last year
This would make perfect sense, signing Fletcher would not. I'm hoping that all the Fletcher talk has been generated by Poyet or the usual lazy media connections
I said this all along last season when we were without Jelly or Long, when given the chance to play up top and through the middle he seemed sharp. With a fair amount of work he could comfortably provide support there. That being said, I still hope to see a proven striker come in.
This. If I remember rightly, in the 12/13 season didn't he play upfront against Middlesbrough at home and score the only goal? (although it was a Free Kick). I wouldn't have a problem with Brady upfront.
Judging by the second half, Ince could be the striker we need. If Jela improves his hold up play a little, they could be a great partnership. He could have had 2 or 3 today.
He made some good runs and showed desire but needs to work on his finishing, seems a little weak at the moment. If he gets that sorted he'll be brilliant.
I'm one of those that think finishing comes with sharpness. He didn't play loads of games last year so hopefully when he becomes a bit more confident and match fit, the goals will follow.
Brucie in his post match interview with Mike White. Mind you, he seemed a bit wound up and not in the mood to say much at all.
