There was a yellowbelly pot thrower on and the filleter had a GY accent also. Minor carps (see what I did there?) it was a very well made programme, which actually showed you stuff about Hull you had no idea about.
I thought the pot thrower was particularly interesting, I always wondered what went on in that building you see when you cross the bridge.
That's why they have all those little lakes around Barton that you can see when crossing the bridge- they've dug loads of holes around themselves. Always knew Beulah did summat like that, go by it all the time. Quite a niche business.
I’ve just been looking at some pics from a giant puppet parade (last weekend?). Did anybody see it live? Was it as good as the pics say it was?
I don't normally like such stuff, but to be fair, yes, it was pretty good (for what it was). Things like that though do still leave me wondering 'why'? what was the point? wouldn't the money be better spent / invested on something more important and or lasting? and so on. But yes, it was ok. The large 'puppets' were pretty cool tbf
Well me, my missus and kids thought it was ****ing ace. Town was heaving, the parade was what it was - if you think that sort of thing's arty bullshit then it wouldn't have changed your mind, but whatever your opinion on that side of it the huge puppets were awesome.
The pictures look brilliant, I wish I’d known beforehand I’d have been tempted to nip across for a look.
The pictures don't really do it justice either (although there's some brilliant ones online). Their animation was really good with the movement of the head, blinking eyes, opening mouths, moving arms and legs etc. Sadly I didn't get any good photos of it, but the dog in the boat seemed to be loved by everyone who went.
Saw The Last Testament of Lillian Bilocca. Brilliantly done, very emotional, came away feeling angry.
I’m going tonight. If a piece of theatre can make you angry then it must be very well done Looking forward to it
Brilliant night. Great singer is mr Gregory. Blancmange dragged it out a bit but still good to hear their classic Saw some lads I've not seen for 40 years too.
Glenn Gregory was really good performing the Ziggy album live with Woody Woodmansey too. Miles better than I expected, great frontman
Tarmacgate update, saw one of the patches on paragon street has been relaid, the other is still a black dirty mess.
The one n Prospect Street has been delayed due to some issue with the utility company (according to the Council), they're pushing to get it reinstated as soon as possible.
