I mentioned that when the whole farce started, and you're right it probably could make millions around the globe, but the problem is it's not Allams plan. His plan is purely and simply to make the club name as different from the councils as possible.

But the majority of posters on here seem to think otherwise. So is Hull Tigers and the Tiger logo more marketable than Hull City or what?

There was never anything wrong with the tiger logo, it was just completely unnecessary to be called Hull Tigers to use it, it was already our logo.

It's of my opinion that 'Hull' isn't marketable at all but it doesn't even need a name change to launch a clothing brand synonymous with the club, just a genuinely decent new logo for both ventures to share, a clothing brand could operate under Tiger Clothing or whatever and make some top notch designer gear to flog in sports direct outlets across the UK and around the world.

A badge, a name etc isn't going to make more marketable in Asia.

Some Chinese kid isn't going to be interested in a name he'll be interested in whoever favourite superstar footballer Is playing for.

We'd probably get more media coverage in Asia if we signed China's best player. Look a reaction from Egyptians when we signed Gedo.

Some of you seem to be suggesting that removing City was a bad idea and was done to spite the council but that removing Hull would have been a better idea and this wouldn't be a dig at the council....

    Wtf?

I don't get why HCC would give a crap about removing City, nor do I understand why anyone at all would think it was ever the aim (you can shove your hearsay up your arse) to use that as a dig at them.

Surely the only way to have a dig at HCC (not that I suspect they'd care anyhow) would be to remove Hull?

It's almost like keeping Hull for location reference and Tigers as a brilliant marketing angle as a genius idea is finally sinking in on here.

Thanks very much to the 85 of you who have taken the time to fill out my survey and for your views expressed on here. You've really helped me out and I have some good data to go on with my dissertation. For anyone reading this who hasn't I'd really appreciate any addtional responses if you could spare 5 minutes of your time. I'd love to reach 100 if possible! I'd be happy to share any results for anyone interested as well. Cheers.

Survey completed, I would be interested in the results.
Out of interest, is this the only place you've posted this request? Have you tried posting on the clubs Facebook page for example?

Caveman the people on the Facebook site are the biggest bunch of ******s going. It's mainly clueless kids, non attending whingers and premier league plastics who otherwise support Man U. Just read it when we lose ffs.

The people on that site will **** all over the quality of his current data.

Thanks for doing that caveman. I tried to look for other forums to post it to but this one is by far the best. Not sure how good City Independent would be for it but I couldn't get registered to that one unfortunately. With regards to posting it on Facebook, I don't think any posts I make to the Hull page actually appear on it for people to view anyway. If you go on the page there is a link for 'posts to page' down the side but I can't see anyone looking at that. When I close the survey which might be some time next week if I'm not getting any more responses in then I can post the results up in full.

Fair enough, who'd want to read a board where everyone wets their knickers when we lose eh. Oh, and FYI, it's CAPTAIN caveman thank you. (Cavey is an acceptable alternative).

Confused. Why would anything Windass or name change related affect the pre match news conference?
