Only halfway through the transfer window and we are good to go with the midfield and wingers. Still need the GK and defence sorted, another striker would be good too.

The last couple of games have showed us we need to stay grounded. There’s still a fair bit of work to do, yet.

If we can continue to bring in the quality we have been doing, I honestly don’t mind if they aren’t in for West Ham. If it takes us to the last day of the transfer window to form the squad we want, so be it.

No need for anyone to panic, yet. Not talking about anyone on here just the folk already melting down on social media about the last couple of performances and results.

What else I think is a factor is we’re clearly setting up to play with less of the ball and to break quick against teams that have quality. But we have more quality than the likes of Hull so we’re a bit in between two ways of playing. I recon Betis will be the right test for us and we’ll see some changes created at the weekend

When there Mrs asks ya a question and ya give a genuine answer but cause it isnt the answer she wanted ya get "its not what ya said its how ya said it!" While ya scratch ya head thinking wtf has gone on!

Decent for 60 mins the rest meh..just think we are still missing that cutting edge in forward areas and the lack of chances created. Would've liked to see more chances created and more goals to give confidence to players. Still plenty of time for new signings which are obviously needed. Looking forward to the weekend

I had the feeling, after five minutes, that Mayenda was told to have an hour playing in a way that didn't really suit him ...

... but will get him used to how he may have to play, especially away from home.

Back to the match, Diarra and Talbi were the highlight. Early signs of a partnership for the latter with Trai, that can only help us. Xhaka certainly adds control and solidifies us, but that’s hardly news. Lastly, that’s another anonymous showing from ELF. Early days, preseason, new teammates and all that. There is history of that though. Hope we find a way to make him more effective. He’s out most talented player.

Hull won 2-1 marra. Full scale changes on 60 minutes. 1st half was pretty good, quick passing and movement.
Then all hell broke loose and everyone bar us 2 are on ignore.

Lost 2-1, Hull played as if it was a league game and Sunderland moved the ball around well ...

... but it was all a bit tame and really messy when the whole team change after an hour.

    Moore did OK I thought

Yeah, he was ineffective as was mayneda. Those 2 are not the ones in want to be leading the line.

I actually think Diarra is better suited with his running power the break from CM. We need ELF on the ball more.

Agreed. If we’re trying to be solid and hit teams in the break we could get lots from Mayenda as second striker too. Again I’m kinda disappointed that we’ve tried so little this summer. Hopefully it pays off with us having ironed out the kinks before the WHU game.

If Neil goes id like a more natural no10 to come in, I'd like Mcatee but the fee city want for him is ridiculous

Le fee can then be used deeper in certain games, I do think he would be better in the no10 role with a more natural CF
