well don't more amercians died during d day than brits, so should they be offended? the point is, the freedom of dday and ww2, was the freedom to strike against **** wages etc and the real enemy has slowly being invited over decades.
No France didn’t. World War 1 - Germany lost the most, Russia next then France in combat. Turkey lost the second most in total but the majority of their deaths were civilians. Your statement lost more than any other European country in both World Wars is palpably incorrect. A lot of French came across from Dunkirk. A lot of them decided to return aftervFrance’scsurrender. NotbDe Gaulle of course, he skulked here for 5 years. The Americans, like the Soviets did not get involved until they were attacked. Eventually the Soviets would have ground the Nazis down and Europe would have been a lot different. The only question would have been would they have continued across the Channel?

You are still wrong. Russian and Ukrainian losses were millions more than France, annd they were Allies in Europe. We had more casualties in WW2 than .France, though less in WW1. And the Treaty of Versailles had nothing to do with WW1 and didn’t directly cause deaths in WW2. The Nazis didn’t murder millions of Jews and millions of soviet’s because of Versailles, they weren’t involved in drawing it up.
Of course they do, daft lad. They killed more Germans than everyone else combined in WW2. Just inconvenient for you that so many in the European part of the USSR died to add to the countries that lost more than the French.
im not drunk, im just into history, probably far more than you mate especially in ww2, so gain some respect and i have zero respect for the soviets in ww2. they literally just threw their whole population at it they killed more of their own people than the germans did stalin sided with hitler stalin was a disgusting man who was personally responsibile for millions of deaths and this is not even counting the number of germans etc the soviets raped theres a reason the germans would rather surrender to the allies than the soviet scum
I didn't commemorate it, if that's what you're asking, I worked all last week. The war(s) has many different memories for different ppl, depending on how they were affected and I don't think anyone should be forced to feel in a certain way. I know a lot of ppl who lost friends and family when the British air force ****ed up and bombed Hølen school and Laksevåg - over 60 children died at their desks or in the playground at 9am, plus many more civilians. They don't expect you to commemorate or stop what you're doing to allow them to commemorate this, nor feel guilt or shame for it. I don't think French people today, who weren't alive during WW2, should be obliged to be grateful any more than Germans alive today should be guilty for what happened, nor should British ppl feel guilt for what happened in our past before we were born, such as slavery etc. That's my philosophy and I fully accept many will disagree and want generational responsibility for the good and bad things. I think everyone has a right to commemorate what they want, but I'd guess that every Allied soldier who died in WW2 would have wanted their descendants 80 years later to be allowed to protest for a fair wage and job security.
The Norwegian government was certainly grateful to us. French people would not have life they have now if not for D Day. So they should be grateful.
