Dunswell should be part of Hull, and when Stephen Brady was the leader of HCC he wanted the boundary extended even though he was fully aware of the voting demographic.
There are properties in Dunswell, that have no access to the East Riding without travelling through Hull.
Likewise with the Sainsbury's near/in Hessle, except that's the reverse. There are properties where it quite literally depends which end of the couch you're sat on, as to which side of the boundary you are. And unless it's changed, Hull City Council own a fair bit of land in the East Riding.
I don't follow this one, all of Dunswell's in the East Riding? Though the reverse applies, most go through the East Riding to get to Kingswood.
Yup, but not all of it has direct access to it and they have to go through Hull. It's been like it for decades. The former Cooper and Schultz sites being examples.
Yeah, daft isn’t it, still a bit of land between Hedon and Hull, just, if all the connected villages to Hull were included in all the school tables, wages, house prices etc, Hull would be no where near the bottom of those tables, I think only Nottingham has the same boundary limits as Hull. Hull City Council seems quite wealthy given the money they’ve chucked at roads, council buildings and culture projects, but always bleating about being under funded.
The money for the roads was made available due to and after the pandemic I think . Gotta say our roads are in a lot better condition than a lot of others to
Anyone else got the survey through from HCC about the roads? get it filled in and get rid of these stupid cycle lanes
The rule should be, if its in Kcom's kingdom its in Hull. East Riding Lord and Lady Snottys need knocking down a peg or two. LBF..... Hessle, Beverley, Kirk/land etc are just Kingswood on speed.
I’m in Anlaby. If I’m going into Hull then yes I say I’m going into town. I also answer ‘Hull’ when asked where I’m from by anyone outside the area.
KCOM currently are installing FTTH in Brid, Pocklington, Driffield,Goole, Selby and various places south of the Humber. Big place is Hull y'know.
