Seen stranger ones recently, Alex Belfield for instance. A right gobshite turd, but a waste of court time with a puzzling guilty verdict.

My brother and his wife ran The Camerton for a little while - nothing microwaved, his food was excellent. FACT!

It's good that people seem to accept that the 'villages' are part of Hull though, even if they don't contribute financially. :emoticon-0105-wink:

I think many of the villages should be part of Hull, but one that's half way between Driffield and Pocklington (twenty miles from Hull), isn't one of them.

Is the village you live in one that should be part of Hull? Where is the line drawn for these?

An old work mate at the council used to do a review of City centre eateries for the monthly dept mag under the title 'Hegone Roaming'. He pulled no punches and when he saw a potential Sam and Ella job he said so. Very eye opening and entertaining it was. He could spot a microwaved pie from miles.

I wouldn't care if it was, but I'm almost twenty miles away as well, it's the places that are actually now a continuation of Hull (Hessle, Anlaby, Willerby, Cottingham etc) that should be.

They aren’t a continuation of Hull. Hull has expanded towards them. The centre of Hessle is only a mile less than the centre of Beverley is from the centre of Hull. Should Dunswell and Beverley be part of Hull? When you think of the voting demographic of a lot of these places you can see why Labour wasn’t keen on incorporating them.

If you don't have to leave a built up area and travel through fields then you're part of Hull as far as I'm concerned. Would people in Anlaby say they're going to Hull for a few drinks and something to eat, or would they say town?
