I got a cracking suit from Suits Direct from there before the Xmas shutdown, the lady assistant was extremely helpful. It’s not got a massive amount going for the place but that shops ok
The just need to move the bubble thing a bit up to include Hornsea and get cheaper chips at Whiteheads... In a rare moment of seriousness it seems to get bought out every few years / attempt at revival reinvention of the place (I know someone who works on the grounds staff) lots of shops have gone bust* / been lost during Covid crisis, the model of some of the outlet shops was to capture (poor sods) older people and exciting shops such as Edinburgh Wool. Shop* to draw them in
The problem with Hornsea Freeport is that a lot of the outlets that were in there then opened in Princes Quay too (and some have since closed and left leaving it bare again).
The 'trouble' with Hornsea Freeport is there is not much of it left and what is left can be found every where else. The internet has decimated it as it has many 'shopping destinations' although it doesn't seem to have done MacAurthur Glenn any harm....yet. That is still a huge attraction. Always thought that near by Skirlington Market takes trade off Hornsea Freeport but both enterprises have been seriously hit over the past year and may never recover. My last visit to the Freeport last year was over in about 20 minutes, nothing to see there, move on. The internet and laziness will be the death of the High Street, not prices.
Dont normally agree with you but just about sums it up . I'm surprised it hasnt become a housing site by now .
I went for a look at the new bridge over Castle Street today. I have to say on first viewing it’s a pretty impressive effort.
I drove under it at 6pm on Saturday there were loads of people milling about, Covid has really made us desperate for something different it we’re all raving about a sodding footbridge
This is the site I’m working on It’s like the Tardis, just when we think the ends in sight, the owner finds more space for more flats.
