Arcadia brand Evans has sold to Australia's City Chic for £23m. There are also several companies competing to buy TopShop/Top Man.
Passport at the ready and jabs up to date, I had to visit 'Branny Sener' earlier today. Foredyke pub looks to have had a makeover inside and out. It has also had a name change to Sutton Arms, presumably with a pair of boxing gloves on!
Someone's finally bought the old Heaven and Hell night club, it seems it's going to be replaced with a hotel.
There was a hotel proposal for that site quite a few years ago? I think it fell through. Who’s the new hotel group?
It might not be a hotel, after further investigation, it seems RH are now unsure of what it's going to be. The only thing they've had confirmed, is that it's been bought be a Yorkshire based property company and Burnsy is currently trying to get them on to find out what they're doing.
Of course they would need to change the name it's far too long, short is the way to go. Welcome to, Hell.
I thought I heard it was going to be a sports bar, showing different sports on about 40 screens, might be ok.
Local politicians are a mixed bag but usually you find some intelligence or coherent beliefs which may agree with or disagree with. But Karl Turner......no redeeming features whatsoever, I pity his electorate who have this buffoon representing them
Well... I was at my mother-in-law's before the least election and he was canvassing her street, as I walked towards my car he spotted my City scarf and asked if I was the person who he'd spoken to at one of his surgeries about the Allam's. I wasn't, but he then said, and I quote verbatim, "time they ****ed off anyway."
I think it was Manor Properties that owned it. Probably explains why nothing was done with it. According to a quick Google search planning permission was granted for a seven storey 135 room hotel. In true Manor style nothing happened following planning approval.
