Apparently, 40% of the granite blocks for Trinity Square have been damaged in transit from China and can't be used, but it will still be completed by end Dec as the council bought extra and still have enough (is it me, or is 40% a ridiculously large over-order?)... please log in to view this image
It depends on what percentage Trinity Square is in the whole programme, they'll have over ordered for the whole project, unless this is a different block set used to the rest, then yes 40% is a lot
I've noticed with this new paving, as well as the issue I keep mentioning where they smear it in brown crap after laying it, they've put some kind of black sheets in between certain slabs when laying them, not sure what for, but they're still there after the mortar has gone in and dried so there's this tacky looking black stuff poking out between the slabs. Seems bizarre to me. There's a lot of it outside Primark right where those pictures are. EDIT: In fact I've just noticed it's clearly visible in some of those pictures.
I would guess at some stage they will remove that once it is nearing completion, what really pisses me off is the discarded chewing gum that will start to appear.
I think it might be where the mortar bed underneath has been laid in seperate 'slabs' to allow for some movement. May have made this up though, I'm sure there'll be experts somewhere on here to put me right.
I know nothing about this stuff, but it doesn't look easy to remove. It seems to be set in the mortar between slabs.

http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/new-...ver-the-city/story-29965064-detail/story.html Rooftop bar planned for the back end of the Hilton Doubletree, good news but i doubt you'll get a 'view across the city' from 4 stories up.
You might be able to glimpse the vibrancy and colour of Spring Bank. No doubt a councillor will claim it is just like being in Barcelona.
The extra does seem large but it was partly to factor in future repairs and for use elsewhere. As it turns out it is a good job they did.

Will you see anyway when the Health and Safety jobsworths and the police insist on 10' high Perspex sheets topped with netting to prevent the possibility of somebody lobbing stuff off it?
The Sky Lounge at the top of the DoubleTree looks over Beeston and that seems to do alright. Don't overthink it.
The Arctic Corsair is being moved into one of the disused dry docks (the one that used to be the entrance to Queens Dock) and the dry dock where the Bounty was built is also being sorted.
