Fair enough I must be psychic...or slipped through a time portal...they’re the only possible explanations
Ashley's got the money available, Day would have to use external finding and I think they administrators have had so many failed deals, they went for the safer option.
Sadly it turns out I’m not psychic and I haven’t been time travelling Aunt Bibby’s closed and it was replaced by ‘Street’ some time before 18th July https://whatsonhub.com/hull/offers/street-food/
I think 'Street' was just a renaming/rebranding. So it might well still be from today. There is just one more thing... the notice on the door being dated the 10th August is fairly strong evidence pointing to that fact.
I wonder if it's safer for the pension fund though. I've no grounds for doubting Ashley but I'll bet securing the pension fund for the employees isn't top of his todo list...
It changed it's named to 'Bibby's' and went more down the street food route, instead of the American food route. Specialised in hot wings - they were really good. Walked past the other day and it had been rebranded again as 'Street'. By the looks of that image - it was run by those two brothers that got done for (I think) fraud (?). I believe the same thing happened to Bait, the seafood restaurant on the other side of the street - so it's not down to poor trading. Bad for the avenue that there are 2 or 3 empty properties because of it, but I'm sure it won't take long for them to be filled. Cactus Cafe is new to the street - been for breakfast a few times already, and it's really good.
Was talking to the manager in TGI Friday’s near Castleford about a store opening in Hull. He said he was recently at a manager’s meeting where the company said they currently have 85 stores here but they want to get that up to 100 by 2019 with York, Doncaster and Hull targeted near us. Princes Quay seems to be the destined location but the momentum in opening that floor seems gone. The whole place is struggling again with stores closing.
Whereabouts in Hessle if that pic taken OLM ? I don't recognize the section of street, unless it's on the bend of The Weir en route to the church ?
Thanks. How the place has changed since I was last there. Waggy's used to be on the opposite side of the roundabout just in on the Weir. I know that changed hands moons ago. Used to sit on the patio with my ma for a lunch-time beer on my trips back occasionally.
