Australian Pink Floyd will be playing Hull Venue late next year. Not officially confirmed by the venue but it’s happening.
I don't know if this link has been posted on here, but I thought it could be of interest to some posters. https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/england/hull#.WhLipVKnz9I
The developers appeal against the rejection of the Kingswood retail expansion will be heard at the Guildhall today.
LOL oh dear oh dear Ref you plonker THAT Dublin and here's me think, what's so special about Eire's capital? A 'senior moment' I'm afraid folks.
How do we feel about this? The traders in the City centre are dead against it, and I'm all for supporting them in general, but I instinctively want to welcome local development rather than oppose it. Seems a bit small time hoping for your business to succeed just because of a lack of alternatives.
That's not what it's about at all, it's about improving the retail offer in the city centre, rather than outside of it. Everyone wants the new retailers to come, they just want them to come to the city centre, rather than a development half way between Hull and Beverley.
David Harrison @DaveHarrisonBBC Hull City Council has agreed a price to buy the former BHS & Edwin Davis buildings from the current owners. Likely to complete purchase in coming weeks & begin demolition in June. No commitment yet to save the BHS mural. please log in to view this image
angus young @angus_young61 Interesting to hear council purchase of Bhs/Co-op and Edwin Davis stores expected in "next few weeks" but also possibly dependent on outcome of current Kingswood inquiry.
angus young @angus_young61 Council planning manager Alex Codd indicates potential re-development at Myton retail park could start in early 2018. Dependent on leases ending.
I was in Hull last weekend. Walked through town from Holy Trinity as far as Debenhams. It's a pretty depressing experience. The buildings, pavements, installations, etc look brilliant but the 'shopping experience' is dog-****e.Too many empty units and too many crap shops. Whitefriargate should be the jewel in the crown, entering past the old city gate into the beautifully renovated street, but there's not a shop down there you want to set foot in let alone buy anything from(apart from shop selling dead bod t-shirts). Even M&S looks like it's on the brink of closing down. Unless there's a rapid incoming of jobs and people with money to spend I can see it getting worse before it gets better, sadly.
Don't forget Lush, for which you need a second mortgage if you've got your two daughters in tow. #Pricey.
