It’s really not meant to be used that way. It’s for cooking whole not minced.

    Just a wagyu related story.

If you want proper wagyu, you need to get it from Kobe.

    They don’t mince it.

As long as you have shown remorse, which you have, we forgive you.

Now let’s never talk about it again.

Kobe is just one area of Japan it is associated with although it is the name which often gets mentioned, maybe because it is the easiest to pronounce.<laugh>

I would guess the minced Wagyu isn't from any of those but places like the one in North Yorkshire supplying it. Must confess to having a Wagyu burger at a place near Whitby supplied by them and very good it was too. The restaurant had a potted history of Wagyu beef, and the breeds it was originallyfrom. Of course after realising the error of my ways after reading the Happy Gourmet's post I would have to think twice before committing such a cardinal sin again.

Well apart from in a pie. Steak pies are my favourite things, which is weird I know, but there it is.

So **** it, there you go fellas, I don't like Steak.

    Deal with it...

Don't like steak? I am sure help is available.<laugh> Ribeye steak is a wonderful thing.

My wife loves steak pies. Go to different restaurants on holiday and invariably she will ask for steak pie if it is available. Went to a place renowned for its seafood but it had a pie of the day so I didn't even need to ask what she was having.

Kobe’s by far the best steak I’ve ever had, it’s really quite different to the wagyu you get here, as the stuff here’s been altered to look like our normal steak (Kobe looks completely different, it’s completely marbled).

Not something you’d eat all that regularly though, it cost me £400 for two steaks in 1985 and I’ve only had small amounts at Tepanyaki restaurants since.

Everyone should try it once though, worth tracking down if you're in Japan or Hong Kong.

Sounds like your Missus and I could enjoy a lovely meal together <hug>

As for yourself, try substituting the kidney for button mushrooms sliced in half. They look the same and don't taste of urine.

Don't know what you have been eating but the kidneys I eat don't taste of urine.

Your meal might be spoilt by my missus asking if you really need yet another drink. My standard response is no, I just bloody well want one.
