Chazz's post is obviously just an exiled post from CI, he actually has another idea about specifically using memberships to fund an East Stand extension which I really like, as it offers something very tangible for the extra money put in. I know very little about the different fan ownership models, it's not something i've studidied in any great detail, but I plan to rectify over the next few months.
Quick question, how does a fan group with fan ownership/share of a club pass FFP? Do they even need to? Does FFP only kick in at a certain %?
Ah not FFP, the other thingy, the one they use to allow owners to own clubs...fook me, sorry, its early
I think it would be the front man leading the group that would have to pass, whoever would be picked for the chair.
Fan ownership no thanks. Funnily enough this whole experience has shown me that democracy has no place at a football club. Considering the amount of diverging views we have about our particular present issue it wouldn't bode well to try and agree on every f**king issue. Even at Sunday league level you have a problem picking next season's kits if you let everyone get a say. This is why clubs have owners and teams have managers. As a supporter you can support or not support a decision but I don't think it's our place to decide. No one feels the need to have as much of a say for the England team, why is that?
It only kicks in after a certain percentage, I can't remember what that percentage is, but I think it's about 25%.
Maybe not fan ownership but a model similar to Swansea or Sociedad would work here whereby the fans have a stake in the club. I honestly don't see the problem as it works most of the time. Like I said Green Bay is the most successful only because of a huge fan base and you have to pay $500 a share
In 5 years you say? I'm going to strike oil in my backyard here in Texas, sell the crude to Texaco, buy the Tigers from the Allams and I'll rename them back to Hull City AFC. I'll spend shyteloads of money maintaining the talent so City can play in the Champions League every year. Messi will fear coming to the KC. I'll also buy FC Dallas as an MLS feeder to Hull City, and schedule an American tour every summer so black and amber kits can replace all those ugly friggin' red and blue kits my fellow countrymen are fond of wearing. THAT's where we'll be in 5 years.
