Yes, it was a decent save! I agree DBT. Marshall was at full stretch given the timing the opposition and his previous record. It could almost go down as world class.
Always found it a little ****ish the way some fans need a scapegoat and enjoy slating him. Similarly relishing the'amusing' autobiog of Jon Parkin who tossed it off whilst on our wage bill. ****in hilarious.
A few in the North stand around me were giving him grief after their goal. Then sarcastically cheering when he made a simple save a few minutes later. It seems like people are waiting for him to make mistakes so they can moan about him. It didn't even cross my mind to blame the keeper when that goal went in, but clearly for some people it was on their mind before if even happened. It used to be the same with Meyler; when he misplaced one pass they'd turn on him and then cheer when he got subbed off.
I only saw it on the tv , but their goal looked a bit dodgy keeping to be fair . I was surprised more hadn't been made of it by those who saw it happen live
