I'm sick of us being negative, we should be trying to muller teams like Blackburn and I'll give him plaudits of he does, regardless of the result.
In principle I agree with you - but it's back to the age old problem. Do we want to look good like Blackpool did when they got relegated under Holloway, or get results and promotion like Bruce did with us last time? Yes - we'd all love to do both but if we can't then it's one option or the other. To me, getting the result is the top priority.
I'm of the firm belief, that negative formations lead to negative results, hence my desire to see our largely Premier League squad go for it against a largely Championship one. Otherwise, there's an earful of steak and kidney on it's way over.
I think Bruce will go with a 4-5-1/4-3-3. A 3-5-2 would mean playing Maguire, who I don't rate at all and I don't think Bruce is all that convinced either. McG Moses Dawson Davies Robertson Diame Huddlestone Clucas Elmo Hernandez Maloney I'd rather Livermore than Huddlestone but I think Bruce would be more likely to drop Clucas, which would be harsh, so I think he'll leave Livermore on the bench for now.
[QUOTE="originallambrettaman, post: 8412402, member: 1000044" For anyone who's interested, here's a Blackburn forum match thread (the OP's a bit crap at Geography) - http://www.brfcc.com/mb/index.php/topic/30742-hull-city-a-saturday-26th-september-3pm-kc-stadium/[/QUOTE] What sort of a match thread is that. Christ they're not for amateurs. He got a dicky tummy from eating a mushroom!! Gaylord.
Great minds think alike - the same as the team I outlined earlier. I'd have Maloney sitting in behind Hernandez, otherwise exactly that.
Watson Elmo Dawson Davies Robertson Huddlestone Clucas Aluko Diame Maloney Hernandez As soon as we go 1-0 up then Jake, Meyler and Maguire on for Hernandez, Diame and Maloney changing to Watson Elmo Maguire Dawson Davies Robertson Meyler Jake Huddlestone Clucas Aluko
I don't disagree. But Bruce loves Huddlestone so he'll keep in. Probably won't be long before they are back in the team together, neither offer a goal threat and I hope it won't put too big a load on Diame. Looking forward to seeing Maloney again, hopefully he'll keep fully fit now.
See I disagree. I was sick of seeing us playing negative football, yes it might win us promotion. What does that achieve? Another year of playing completely negative football in the Premier League rather than the Championship? Look at Bournemouth and Watford last season, they played brilliant attacking football with squads who where worse than ours and won promotion. I want to be entertained, I want us to go out from ball one aiming to win the game by 3 or 4. That attitude will rub off on the crowd. Attacking football doesn't mean going gung ho, it means pressing the opposition in their half, trying to dictate the game, playing the game at a decent tempo. If we actually go out and look to win every game rather than settling for a point (Brighton and Charlton), I would accept it if we didn't go up. However, I honestly think with the squad we have if they where given the opportunity to go out and press teams and attack them we could walk this league.
Bruce has to achieve promotion this season, as already stated above, we have one of the the strongest squads along with Derby & Boro, perhaps the best one. We also have a new striker to make an impact hopefully in Diomande. We have generally 6-7 PL class players in our starting XI
Basically it was a daft question, effectively asking if I'd like to see us win every week! Of course I and everyone else would! Of the two options, I'd clearly prefer to win 4-3 every time. But reality isn't like that. Now answer my question: Would you prefer to see us win 1-0 every week or lose 3-4 every week?
