I have not been on here for ages (still going to games though) this may have been asked before but does Ian Ashbee's son play for the Acadamy, I know he is a young footballer.
City stiffs won 3-2 against Scunthorpe U23s tonight. Balogh (from 18 yards), Billy Chadwick (watch out for him, decent larker) and Callum Jones (me neither) all found the net. Hull City U23s came out on top in a five-goal thriller with Scunthorpe United to secure a first win in this season's Premier League Cup on Monday night. In an entertaining encounter at the Sands Venue Stadium, it was the hosts who opened the scoring on 24 minutes. Yann Songo’o won a free-kick in the final third and Ryan Colclough played the square ball to Devarn Grenen on the edge of the area, who found the bottom corner with a low prodded effort. It was a lead that lasted until just before the hour mark with Norbert Balogh on hand to put the Tigers back on level terms. Dan Batty's cushioned pass set the Hungarian up perfectly and his first-time effort from 18-yards beat Adam Kelsey and nestled into the bottom corner. However, Scunthorpe restored their lead 15 minutes later when George Miller pounced on a loose ball inside the box to find the back of the net via the inside of the post. The response from the Tigers was emphatic as substitute Billy Chadwick equalised on 81 minutes, prodding home from close range, before Callum Jones made it 3-2 just six minutes later. Ahmed Salam's header was tipped onto the bar by Kelsey, but Jones was on hand to fire the rebound into an empty net to secure a first Group C win for Jon Beale and Andy Dawson's side.
