I don't know that part of Hull too well. Wasn't there quite a big church at the back of Witham running east from Cleveland St? You'll know where the first ferro-concrete bridge in the world is too I'd bet?
true i live in a world of friends who are social and the security of working so how come you have been on here all day?
I wish. Unfortunately my days have 24hours. I was just on at a few separate moments of it. Are you actually heading anywhere with this or just having your first go at humour?
There was St Mary's church down Wilton Street next to the school with the same name, across the road from Reckitt's. Got me on the bridge mate
i thought i would keep the humour to a level you would be happy at. and you were the one who bit at my mods comment
The Church could be reached from Church Lane of Cleveland Street. I'm trying to remember why it sticks in my mind. Was it huge? The bridge is the one that no longer looks like a bridge at the Cleveland St. Great Union St, Witham junction.
I remember Lister getting built and Rington's are still there. I'm 57 and Rington's was there when I was a kid.
lister been shut down now! id say shame but it was a **** hole hated the place with a passion (wanted to go to winifred holtby) Ringtons has expanded down the country since i last worked for them lol that was 2002
The church was bigger than most, lot of sinners lived round there mate. I'm with you now regarding the bridge, it's all filled in and the bridge left standing
my dad called it pram land and after several girls getting pregnant from my year while at school i knew why! which school did you go to then?
First school St Mary's (not the girls school lol) then St Richard's on Marfleet Lane, left 1969 and couldn't get away quick enough lol
