For me there's three players who could potentially replace him as captain if does get stripped, plus a wildcard option. Jan the standout, leader and Mr Consistent. Kane as he's the poster boy, being England captain may sway Poch's decision. Trippier is the most vocal of any player on the pitch, always relaying instructions. Plus is he's made captain, Aurier won't hopefully play as much. Dier the wildcard. Warrior, always gives 100%, allows us to switch formation mid-match if need be and at 24, is no longer a youngster but still has plenty more to give and improve on.
True there's a few candidates...I just don't want it to affect Kane's game in a negative way...don't think it would but y never know. Think it would bring out the best in Dier...but I'm not sure he's nailed on starting nowadays
Yeah completely agree about Kane. Although I think the exact opposite about Dier , think he's more or less guaranteed a starting spot providing he stays fit. Dembele struggles to play 90 mins, Wanyama and Winks are always injured and Sissoko is well... Sissoko. Dier is the only we can rely on, think he just needs a permanent partner in CM, can't have helped having so many CM partners last season in which at times they weren't even fully fit. Still baffles me as to why we didn't bring in a CM.
