Basically what Barton was saying_ "They wouldn't give us a big fat bonus, so we had a tantrum, then they offered some kind of bonus scheme for everyone, which clearly wasn't enough, we still refused to sign it, so Chris took the fall. We're a bunch greedy footballers who want to be rewarded for getting the club back into the premiership."

Okay... so it was about money, Mike Ashley played hardball and it's working out for Mike Ashley and NUFC right now, don't know how Nolan is doing but Barton's not doing too badly, I'm not sure if he had to take a big paycut though. We all know how things are going for Carroll. I doubt Carroll was involved in asking for a bonus though.

Barton was a big reason why we got relegated, doesn't anyone remember him getting himself sent off at liverpool and missing the last 3 games of the season? He undermined Shearer and split the squad even more so. We weren't down and out and only needed a draw at villa but we were playing with Edgar and people on the field, and Duff at left back or something.

To add to that Joey spent most of the championship season on the sidelines with that foot injury he had been carrying for a whole 2 years, therefore i find it rather ludicrous that he would be asking for a promotion bonus.

Barton's clearly not over this matter. I guess he genuinely liked playing for newcastle and is rather bitter about leaving, it was his decision though at the end of the day. Lets face it, it's barton, we're better off without him, sooner or later he's gonna do something stupid again.

Joey needs to keep his gob shut to be quite frank, going on about us still having been gone for a good while now just makes him look like a petty arsehole.

Do yourself a favour Joey and keep it shut about us!

For whatever reason Joey Barton achieved cult status with us for doing very little. Yes he put in some good freekicks and corners last season but honestly, he didn't play very many games for us and he was right up there being a total crock on 60k. 80 games in 4 years isn't exactly whole lot is it? He was fit for less than half of our fixtures during his stay, he's right up there with Mickey Owen and Mark Viduka. I dare say Barton has cost us more per goal than Owen did. So why did everyone like Barton so much? Just because he said he liked us fans? Couldn't ever get my head around it.

Well said, I totally agree <applause>

On another note, Barton's constant media whoring to discuss his former club must really annoy the QPR fans. If I was a Rangers fan i'd want him focusing on the job at hand not whinging about the past.

The guy has big ego and is a self centred [NSFW]prick,[/NSFW] who only cares about himself and thinks his opinion is more important than everyone else's opinion on the planet put together.

On a general point, its not so much the decisions the anarchy make. Its the way in which they do them that sticks in my throat. Their is no honour, decency or respect in their bodies.

Pardew has proven to be a good manager and is doing well. But what Hughton did for us what greatly under-appreciated. He deserved to be treated better.

Why is Barton showing off how he and Nolan got everyone to not sign the bonus sheet and then go on and say that it was the players not signing the bonus sheet than got Hughton fired? <doh>

Ever since he got on twitter Barton has just kept going down in my estimation, he is just a self-obsessed, hypocritical, media whoring, moron.

Here's my plan for the end of the season then. Sack Pardew, Cabaye, Obertan, Marv, Santon and Ba and bring back Hughton, Barton, Nolan, Carroll and Enrique all on bumper contracts and let them do whatever they want.

    Perhaps.

All I know is that one of the fundamental responsibilities of a manager is to keep the respect of the players and maintain authority at all times, as well as dealing with it very swiftly if any rebellion against authority occurs.

I cannot imagine managers like Pardew, Ferguson, Redknapp, Mancini or any of them putting up with even a smidgeon of **** like that, so the fact that Hughton sat by why players bypassed him and formed some sort of committee just showed that he had lost authority over his players.

He might be a great guy, and a good manager in every other respect, but if he can't back the owner, stand up against the bigger characters and get them back under the reigns then there's a big problem.

He's an idiot. When he first came onto Twitter a lot of people that didn't properly know about him thought he was a lot more intelligent than they'd given him credit for just because he spouted a few Freud and Nietzsche quotes. He's not. This may sound stupidly stupid, but I think it's becoming apparent that he really does just love talking.

He seems to have one philosophy - have an opinion on anything and everything; and so he does. He's loves the attention and he loves talking. Having watched his last few appearances, it seems he loves talking almost as much as he loves playing now cos he's hardly half the player he was last season.

I'll always have a place for him as I think he really did love it here (love and be loved and all that). But he chose to move on as well as the board. Yet he still hasn't.

Very good player who after an initial period of ****e behaviour turned himself round and gave the club 100%. Most fans like that.
