Too early ............... he's got the sulks for now. Wait a little while and he'll open up like a can of sardines.
Forget MH, what about TF? Heard nothing from him since the appointment of Harry, apart from a statement from the club in his name. Harry refers to the 'owners' as lovely people, is TF on the outer because of his support for MH?
I think Hughes will still be sat at home in his luxury town house in Belgravia scratching his head and wondering what went wrong, no doubt comforted by the seven figure severence settlemet he has been reported as receiving. He did his best to instill a modern approach to the game with changes to the way the squad trained and worked on their diet & focus. I believe Hughes and his technical team had the right ideas but where it all fell apart was with some of the signings he made. The team was his and players that had been rewarded with contract extensions before he arrived (Derry & Hill) were largely sidelined in favour of players he'd brought in. We've all over used the word 'gel' but I think if the players had one common purpose and a sense of team spirit rather than one of individual gain we had all the hallmarks of a very decent Premiership team. What Hughes obviously lacked was a means to get the best out of the players he'd bought in, maybe he thought they would fit right in and that being given a chance to perform in the best league in the world would be all the incentive they needed. I do wonder if he will be back with another Premiership team or if he will set his sights lower or even abroad.
