Of course Barton will stay that's not rocket science and he is a half decent player .. Don't agree with our squad not being good enough ie 'championship level' utter rubbish from people who known little about football
It's the top league in the world but do the players come from to fill it ?
We have a great team and without doubt massive mistakes were made to unbalance that team spirit.. Football people, insiders know that but I understand our fans perspectives of course I do we need Barton at the moment but he's not good enough in my opinion ... He would make a very good championship player in we were all to adopt this point of full
Parker made a solid factual comment IMO and I applaud and respect that as its the closest thing to the actual truth that has been written.

Barton was signed on a rush job as were the rest due to the circumstances and a manager that was pressurized to do so. It hasn't worked has it ?
We are in the bottom 5 league whereas the other two championship teams are holding their own
Our team is littered with Premiership players now ... Working a treat isn't it ... Wise up a few of you
I can't take myself seriously on here ever its a joke when there seems to be fans on here that can't think straight

Count up how many things I have been right on ... Watch and learn

DT, serious question- are there any positions you think we need to strengthen in/ any players you would welcome into the club at this stage?
For me it's obvious we need CBs, cover for Faurlin and someone to spice up the attack, but genuinely interested to get your thoughts.

Ok Dave. 8th right?! :emoticon-0100-smile. Still lying beside the waterfall with your beatiful senorita, a huge CocoLoco, and all the rest...? Sounds fantastic to me as I sit here thinking I should be working, rather than scrabbling around on here and looking at the snowy, freezing wasteland outside <grr>.

Are you at the North Pole Oslo? Cause there ain't snow in Oslo atm. The ground is dry, the sun shines and theres 2 degrees celsius outside.

Well, yes I'm in Oslo, or at least about 15 kilometres outside right now, and its totally white out there with about 3 inches on the ground. When I came in this morning it was zero degrees and blowing hard and cold. I was out in town last night (Majorstua) and there was snow all over the ground there too. If you are in Oslo your dreaming! Or are you in Stavern? Still nothing like as bad as last winter.

Thanks for Oportunity you old fool xx
Girlfriend doing her yoga thing at this Eco chic rip off in Tulum

The team is a bit blown at the mo with the heart now out of it .. I really thought that Faurlin was world class
so of course I would look there
I think Derry held and protected our defence last year and Kasper and Matt at times looked great. Easily good enough at the time for this division
Sorry on iPhone do excuse typing as got jam everywhere it's sunny here Oslo and looks a good day

I am a firm believer of this as was taught this in both England and France

Keep the ball and that's your defence sorted

I think both Traore and Young are superb players and improvements to Ore and Hill

I have little confidence in our centre backs and Matt Connolly is not the player he looked with Kasper
We need that understanding in the centre and a protector ... That could be Barton now

I hope Buz can step up as a playmaker as he has it in him

SWP wide right and leave him there

We need therefore a player who is young and can play in front of Barton
to cover for ALI ... I would buy a highly creative foreign player ASAP

It's also in time that Taarabt gets his chance ... He is simply the best we have and will grow if we can keep him

A centre back partnership that hits the ground running and Barton sits and does nothing else but play three yard passes ... He is a good tackler he is not a playmaker !!!

Lucas at Liverpool is the best I have seen recently as well as the genius Modric ... I would be looking to buy that type of player

I would give Taarabt forward role and free license to goal hang if need be but the idea would be for him to come deep at times get the ball and attack
He is a great passer but will shoot on sight get him doing the right things in their penalty box not on the wings etc

I would therefore spend 25 million on two defenders and whatever on a superstar on the middle

Our flanks are very good we are covered and if we need to play a hold up game we have two of the best in the game at the moment ... Bothroyd and HH I see on better however we shouldn't be knocking it long ever

Sound. Not sure if Aquilani is available, but I wouldn't say no to him.
Looks like the old squad gets the chance to 'impress the manager' and other cliches this weekend.
Enjoy the rest of the holiday......sacrifice something for us on top
Of Chichen (can't spellcheck that) Itza for us

Dave. I spent a few days sleeping on the beach at Tulum many years back. It was beautiful and sunny, but always some cloud on the horizon. One day suddenly the cloud amorphed (sp?) into a twister - a funnelling spiral of water being sucked from the sea into the sky - and hurtling straight at the beach we were on. We found someone with a tent in the forest behind the beach and sat there and prayed like hell while it went through during the night. Was a beautiful sight on the beach after, but, if you see cloud, find something huge and hard to hold onto (don't ask the girlfriend for suggestions tho!)

By the way I like with your ideas, but Lucas is like Ale out for the season I believe.

I am at Co co on Tulum beach
Girlfriends idea nice beach but tbh i know a few in France/Corsica/Gozo that beat this.... Would love a water spout to wipe this resort out at 250 a night it's a rip off of something that is naturally beautiful ... I hate people who exploit stuff and very moody today as had to listen to a load of Americans at restuarant last night ... Their are words coming out for sure but they don't actually say anything ... I swear I was that close to lumping one muscle bound bloke last night ... Totally awesome type don't start me on the women most insincere race on the planet ... This that racist?
Apologies for dreadful typing and spelling Hammock and iPhone .

There was no resort when I was at Tulum, just the Maya temple and a few small wood houses, but then that was 72! Keep away from the Sceptics, if you can...

So far, he appears to be an r's fan with views that are somewhat way out, Col. (wouldn't be the first!)

Brix and I will continue to keep an eye out for wum's generally though, and if anyone has any specific complaint, just pm one of us.

I disagree with what he said about Taarabt, though. Whatever Warnock did worked because he came back on good form, with a better attitude.

I had great respect for Parker as a player. I now also have great respect for him as a pundit, spot on with his comments.
