Harold has been demonstrably better than Hughes, but he joined us when we were 4 points adrift with 25 games to go. We are now 7 points adrift with 7 games to go. His points per game average is much better, but still flirting with relegation form. Lets not go all misty eyed on this. Harold is here and, as DT says, he has my full support and has 7 games to become a legend.
If it happened it would be the first time the Mirror got anything right. There's no way GFH would be stupid enough to appoint the least popular candidate for the job. It seems to be Poyet 1st choice, McDermott 2nd.
Didn't Poyet turn Reading down? Fake Hoops seem in a much better overall shape than Leeds, even after they are relegated. No, Sparky's their boy......
Hughes' united background probably precludes him unfortunately, the sensible choice would be "that bald bloke" as Ellers calls him, but this being Leeds I expect some massive appointment rather than someone sensible.
Hughes is "taking time out of the game" according to his lackey Bowen on the radio. Colin putting the boot in nicely on him when asked if Hughes would be taking over at Leeds.
I thought it was a great remark from Warnock; made me smile anyway. I have some sympathy for Warnock. Whether he should have stayed or gone and whether he'd have kept the Rs up or not are both well-trodden paths on here, but I strongly suspect that had he been successful in avoiding relegation last season, the Rs would not be where they are now.
So do I. As for the Hughes/Joorabchian comedy act can't see what club would take him here anymore in the UK. Will probably end up getting easy money in the Gulf or Far East.
Poyet was our assistant manager with Wise and has said publicly many times that he wants to manage Leeds at some point in his career, he's apparently shown interest privately in the current opening (I would assume providing Brighton don't go up). McDermott, Coyle and O'Neill (even O'Leary FFS) are all in the running ahead of Hughes, who wouldn't even be in the picture were it not for some rumours in ****ty tabloids.
