"Huffing and puffing" is not giving them credit but claiming we were ineffective despite our best efforts. I watched the match with a neutral actually, a Forest fan no less. Their opinion was it was a close game and we should have had a penalty. I'll rephrase that last sentence for you: I'll be the first to join you (in criticising the team).
I beg to differ - I give credit as it's due - we were outplayed in both games- end of. Wouldn't have stopped me enjoying a win no matter how well each team played respectively. Your mate probably just realised there's no point having an opinion if it's different to yours ... and ... as you should - it's called being a football supporter - if you've paid your money you've every right to criticise - I'll even stand you a pint when you do.
I think it would be wrong of me or any other person in favour of Pearson staying to say that we aren't concerned that the seeming lack of confidence seen in the players towards the end of the season won't affect us again. And we will certainly need to start better than last time too. But this isn't grounds enough to sack a manager. I will not stand by Pearson through thick and thin as you seem to think, however. I will only support him for as long as I understand what he is attempting to achieve and as long as he is meeting at least minimal targets. Make no mistake, if we were bottom three after ten or twelve games, I'll be calling for his head. Thing is, I can't see this happening. And that's why I'm supporting him. As long as we're in the shake-up, there's no point replacing him with a manager that might take us out of it like Sousa/Sven did before. Going back to the loss of confidence, I will feel more assured when he begins to bring in some experienced players to support our talented but sometimes naive side. Pearson is not stupid - he will know that the likes of Gallagher, Wellens, Whitbread and St Ledger aren't cutting it anymore, plus Beckford and Danns are unlikely to figure. Not sure what the future holds for Konchesky either. That pretty much only leaves Dyer (who I think he sees as a reserve), Nugent and Morgan of any real age around the main core of, say 15-16 players. People will say: why didn't he do this in January? His main priority in Jan was to replace the misfiring duo of Waghorn and Vardy, which he did with Wood and Kane. Obviously, once he did this and it seem to pay off immediately, things were rosy - not too many of us were displeased with the squad back in January. The crisis of confidence was nowhere to be seen. Pearson was as shocked by it as the rest of us. He'll know it can't happen again. Regarding the number of loans - have you ever known a club waste so much money at this level on so many players not fit to cut it as Sven did? I'll answer for you - no, no-one has. He spend a record amount of money - 75% of which he might as well have flushed down the toilet because Pearson's old team did better than his "all-stars". The basis of any doubts is purely based on results. No-one has yet given me any justification for wanting him sacked other than wheeling out the old clichés I mentioned above. Let's compare Pearson and his team to a car. It's developed a fault, it may be major, it might be minor. Instead of allowing time for the fault to be diagnosed - the problem could be fixed fairly quickly and relatively cheaply for all you know - you decide it's just a lot better to go out and get another car, even if it ends up costing you a lot more and you run the risk that the new car may be even more faulty than your current one.
Oh, he tells me how it is alright, don't worry about that! It's my old man... Nothing wrong with criticising the team when they deserve it. I've seen some real **** dished out at Filbo and the Walkers/KP over the years. But I don't feel like now is one of those times. We've played some impressive stuff this season and many times I feel like things just haven't quite come off. The fact that only Barnsley beat us by a two goal margin this season shows that we've been in with a shout in almost every minute of every match this season. Of course sometimes pessimism sets in and you think you've got no chance, but matches like the Forest match show anything can happen in football. Booing (God, I hope you're not one of those) will never help and only increases pressure on our young team. Venting your spleen on here is OK though - just don't expect all of us to agree!
FF no one is a Nigel Pearson supporter, we all Leicester City supporters. At this moment in time I believe Nigel Pearson is the best man for the job. The team player decent football and get results (Forget the bad run). He recruits very well and builds a team that fight for the club and know how to connect with the fans. Just look what Michael Keane said today We arent too far off from a promotion winning team and Nigel can get us them players that will get us there. Changing managers will make it a bigger and harder job for us to get promoted next season and cost the club alot more money. With FFP coming in there isnt many better managers then Nigel
