The problem I have seen with Green at league and International duties is that he just always looks like a rabbit caught in headlights, he looks like his bricking himself with the next attack, corner, free kick and that im afraid makes me a nervous wreck and that was game one of many to come:emoticon-0101-sadsm

Let's get our perspective right shall we? We pay to watch professionals compete. Hard nut, over-paid, accomplished and seasoned professionals. Not children who need a bit of time to settle into a new school, bless 'em.

Not only is this the rat race world of big people, it's also THE senior stage where success is gauged in millimetres (as that first goal showed on Saturday). No place for passengers let alone goal-leaking liabilities. We need a solid man out there ruling the roast.

As fans we're the paying audience demanding success. If the guy's too nervous to be relied on to do us a job, he's either ill and shouldn't be playing or he needs a good shake down to remind him of his duty to US and the club to sort himself out and show us he's the man for the job. If there are any favours to be done by us it is to give him a clear message (not a two-faced one) and leave him in no doubt that his performances to date are totally unacceptable and get a major thumbs down.

£50 grand a week for a 32 year old bag of nerves? He must be having a laugh at our expense. Like I said somewhere the other day, what would we do if someone asked us to give the pilot of the plane we were on, time to settle his nerves? Yeah. Thought so. Same difference innit?!!

Will Radek Cerny please stand up and show this younger pretender how it's done! (Bit 'arsh ah know, but there you go!)

Gotta agree with you there Brix, Hughes has brought Green in and most know his strengths & weaknesses

Needing time to settle in is not a luxury we have

Agree with all that but where I'm unimpressed with our managers record over 19 games Rob only had 1 competitive game. Settle may be the wrong word, perhaps he's just in need of a little TLC. Whatever he needs we better give to him, within reason.

But the lad does need to cut that barnet of his, proper grandad cut that. Playing badly and looking a total tit can't be good for anybodys confidence.

    Hope he gets it sorted.:emoticon-0147-emo:

Are you taking the piss? You don't think his 50k per-week wage is TLC enough? Are you living in the real World Rhino because sometimes I wonder?

The rest of your post was funny though

Totally agree. Green was at fault for the first goal (I was in X block so I cannot comment on the next 4 and I cannot face watching the game again on TV). He has NEVER filled me with confidence and as an ex Sunday league defender if you cannot trust your keeper, it makes your job so much harder. As for Hughes, great player, mediocre manager. If he does not improve vastly, he will be gone before Xmas. He looked clueless on Saturday and took off Clint Hill, arguably our best player on the day and replaced him with SWP. ****ing hell!!!!!

IMO, Hughes is not up to the job. I will only be happy if he gets us playing as a coherent unit. That is going to be a difficult task because I don't think he knows how to. You can buy the best players in the world, but if they don't gel, you're ****ed. Luckily there are 37 games to go, however I think we will struggle at Carrot Road, Man City forget it and Chelsea and the Spuds are capable of beating us. We could be 5 games in with **** all on the board.

Come on Flyer, with his bad hip, a gut stretched from a multi-pizza blow out, Paddy could have reached that shot and had a chat with the crowd before putting that one in his pocket.
