PTC - he's still learning about his players. I think he thought, we're losing, lets throw caution to the wind now and throw everything at Bolton.

I don't think Edwards is a long term solution either at right back or on the wing but it's good to have a side you can juggle about. Micky Stockwell played every position on the field except keeper and it was invaluable to the team. Look at Man United, they do it all the time and so do City with players like Kolorov. We need to think that way about more of our players.

Lancs I completely agree I was not criticising the decision just saying the irony in the fact people have praised MM for getting a proper RB in and then putting Edwards on the RW and that he should never be played at RB again and then playing round pegs in round holes then praising him for his tactical changes which consisted of putting a RB at CM and Edwards back to RB.

It worked and we haven't seen subs work particularly under the past 2 managers but it's just odd that we've all been saying we need a RB play Edwards on the wing and JET isn't a winger he's better centrally but his change in tactics were all the things we've been saying were wrong!!

Not really. The changes made were to attack and try to get goals. You wouldn't want to play like that over 90 minutes week in week out, and even if you did you couldn't sustain it.

You certainly got those two bits right KOPR, PJ & Clown

Thing is Jewell had no respect from the players & had lost the fans, whatever he would have tried in all likelyhood would not have worked......As for fans moaning about MMs decisions when we lose, give him a chance, we all gave jewell a chance it was not until the poor run at this time last season before some of us seriously started moaning, including those who never really rated him in the first place...

Completely agree with Hoppers. Just been reading some of the comments on here and it seems that some are just itching to stick the knife into MM. I think they are going to be in for one hell of a wait. <ok> MM made the changes to help us to win the game FFS! How many times did Jewell's subs make that kind of impact? Erm...

I don't think anyone is 'sticking the knife in' as there isn't much to complain about when we win, it was merely an observation which was probably right - if PJ had made those changes it probably wouldn't have worked and we would have called him clueless.

I don't think anyone was sticking the knife in at all, as Wright says just observations about what happened. The changes were clearly what was needed and were positive and worked I'm not criticising MM at all, he's done a fantastic job so far!! JWM please read things in context before you go off on one, I know you see things in black and white but I don't think anyone has criticised MM in this entire thread!!
