Mick has just confirmed that Jack Marriott has signed a new Contract and is definately staying at Town
Going to be a very odd feeling going to a match when we have something other than survival to play for!
So one you could enjoy more then hampy. But what a change to be scaring the top 6 and not the bottom 3. We knew we are hard to beat under mick but to see us today play till the end and grab a win means there is a winning mentality within the squad now.
Even when we end up losing now at least we know we have that in our locker. I think we would all have settled for top 10 this season so if we go one better and be in the play offs maybe it's good that there is not that pressure on the players or manager to go up this year and we can all enjoy our football!
The next five fixtures up to New Years Day: Forest - Away Watford - Home Doncaster - Away Bournemouth - Away Charlton - Home I would be delighted with 11 points out of 15 and if we did achieve that we would be well on track for the play-offs! More realistically I think 9 points is very achievable which would put us on 38 points at the half way stage.
Ha ha! You two obviously enjoy playing with us... What a Saturday! - I look forward to someone's report please. Sounds like 4-3-3 worked for us for some, if not all the time. Would Hunt been at the races if he had come on given us more width?
Forget about that - it's where we are in May that matters. Not losing at Forest is the most important thing and then after that what will be will be.
9 looks more achievable. And I suspect we're looking at same 9. A point at forest would be a great result. Watford are not in best shape right now and away wins at donny and Bournemouth are possible. 3 at home to charlton should be a given too. As long as we're still well in touch at turn of year why can't we maintain that thru till may. Optimism is on the rise.
Next game against Forest is probably going to be the big test of what we can expect this season. Its really weird because I wouldn't actually say that we have played well for 90 minutes this season on many occasions. We seem to have periods where we look lost/ off the boil but the determination and perseverance is remarkable. Its hard to describe how we are where we are but long may it continue. Its not always pretty but it sure seems effective.
Sorry boys but I am just amazed about why some people on here and especially on the Radio phone-in constantly moan about the "Performance" as though that is all that matters! We have played much better and lost whoch was the case under long periods of the Jewell reign! We have become a very hard team to beat and we are not being taken too lightly by the opposition these days! When teams play us and win they know that they have had to really earn it. Today we ground out the result and in the Championship if you want to be successful this is what you have to keep on doing! To hell with Champagne football
