Very tidy and composed finished by Deulofeu. Huddersfield manager was any but when Mariappa blocked a shot . Can see what their problem is - just go to bits when near the goal !
The scoreline and the match stats do not really reflect how comfortable that was for Watford. Another day it could've been a "Cardiff". Mr East kept his cards firmly in his pocket for repeat offenders otherwise Huddersfield could and probably should have been down to ten, if not nine. Credit as always to the home fans. On to Southampton on Tuesday....
Did anyone notice on Sky News they had the score down as "Huddersfield 1 WAKEFIELD 2" along the bottom!? I mean yes the media call us physical but surely we haven't turned into a Northern town more known for their rugby.
OGS won't be manager at Christmas I reckon unless Man U spend big (and well ) I mean would Ashley Young be a first choice defensive player in our squad .. Neville ripping into Pogba.
Very entertaining Huddersfield bloke behind me who had a running commentary on the refs decisions and was of the opinion that every foul Watford committed should have received a card. Of course every Huddersfield foul, definatly was not one. It was priceless when he suggested the ref should have a drugs test! To his credit he did not utter one swear word, such a change from the old days.
His last remark must have reminded you of 15 days ago....a Sema final. Gracia wants him to eat less puddings, yes a Sema leaner
Was very placid in that North West corner, people where I lived all supported the 'glamour' clubs so used to go on my own and didnt want to be seen talking to myself . Did send a moan to the club after the famous League Cup win v Southampton (even without Doucore) as should never have conceded that one goal.
My grandson's first game. All morning he had been asking me 'Will Delofeu play ?' Well, he certainly got his answer! And he scored right in front of the newest hornet supporter. The Hebden Bridge branch of WFC supporters (membership 2 known about, - son & grandson - any others, please pipe up) is in a good place right now! COYH
Very fond memories of Hebden Bridge! Stayed in the White Lion three times each time for matches over at Burnley. The landlord was a real throwback - a former police officer cutting a rotund figure, always with a cigar on the go or partaking in a pinch of snuff. Can't imagine he's still with us 20 years later. Ditto the chap who ran the excellent Hare & Hounds up the hill; sausages at the Fox & Goose down the hill! Great times - football was pants 4-1 05/97, 2-0 01/98, 2-0 05/01....
I was in the Revell Ward Stand lower tier, the end furthest away from the Hornets supports who were making a lot of noise. I don't know if that is the north side though.
