I can’t imagine that they’ll feel that Sharp has anymore than a 15-20 spell off the bench in him after Tuesday. Obviously we don’t know what they’re seeing in training but I’d be tempted to give Ohio a go from the start, assuming they feel that he’s fit enough because I think we could do with his physicality and pace up top. Whether he’s capable of holding the ball up and bringing others into the game is another story but hopefully they’ve seen some signs of it. We could also do with Tufan’s pressing but I’d be very surprised if Carvalho made way for him.
Don’t usually try predict scores but I am going to go 4-0 to us and close to 1 point on wba plus turn the -11 goal diff to -5 if the score remains 2-0 tonight.
I think it is more to do with him being match fit and getting up to speed on how we play as such i am sure he will start to get more game time and he will be a fresh player which we will need, pretty sure he is happy at coming here and would have known from the start he would have to work his way into the team, i just hope it is today we get to see him for more than a cameo.
He was playing regularly before joining us, at least throughout December. Only way he's going to get more match fit is by ... playing him. Only way he's going to get less match fit is by .... not playing him.
I think playing in the Championship might be a little different in LR's mind and he has only been here a few weeks so in LR's mind he will want to get him used to how they play , his team mates, and his fitness, we obviously have not spent the money we have to just bring him in to sit on the bench and play loans ahead of him he is or was not completely ready to just be thrown straight in in the managers eyes.
As an example of fitness issues Grealish hasn’t played much at all for weeks - he plays the other night and picks up a strain. Training fit and match fit are not the same at all.
I think the plan was always a replacement for Carvalho next season, but we saw with Sinik, Allahar and Tufan at the beginning they quickly got injured because they were not used to the intensity of the Championship. So Liam will slowly get his fitness up, and I suspect he will be used increasingly more often as the season progresses to easy him in.
Not sure I'll be able to watch the match later as u will be half way to Panama when it's on. I'll try the WiFi but it might be too slow to stream. That said let's smash 'em and get a run going as we go into a critical string of games.....
Odd then though that he was ok to make a subs appearance v Swansea?!! Looked promising. Hopefully we see more of him today.
'Banished' for about 4 weeks. Signed for us 17 days ago, and played as a sub v Swansea. Only way he's going to get more match fit is by ... playing him. Only way he's going to get less match fit is by .... not playing him.
They're in the bottom half because they were crap under Darren Moore, since he left they've found form and a more aggressive approach leading to putting four past Massive, three past Southampton and bullying Sunderland. Factor in our shocking record there and them now having a new manager in the stands to impress and this reeks of a 'typical City' comedown defeat.
