I didn’t see any of the game yesterday, how did tufan do. Someone mentioned he played in midfield alongside Morton
He's off on one again. Some valid points / questions though tbf. Carlos PiresHull City Fans Forum Top contributor · 1 d · Apart from 3 points in the bag, move to the next one and let’s see….. apart from that, all is the same, inconsistency is the key, clueless is the key and luck, loads and loads of it. Let us remember the ” easy “ games are finished, from now on , with the football we are playing, it’s obvious that the future does not looks bright… last 3 games we lost one and struggled 2 wins over bottom table teams , and commemorate like we were playing with Real Madrid….… Still suicidal building from the deeeeeeeeeep back ( building ???????? ), still attacking players out of tactical positions, still no clue , random long balls, random tactics…. ( 75 min., 1-0…… tufan out, coyle in… ???….. fight for keeping 1-0 ?… when it was obvious that we were giving them the midfield and they were pushing us back and their goal was just a matter of time ? )…… all is random, all looks random. Fabio Carvalho now is the new ugly duck, let me remind, people might not know….. he is a center forward, a number 9 to play behind the striker….. if the ball does not get there…. the natural instinct is to search for the ball , search for passes , in our deep midfield, far away from where he should be……. but obviously, let’s attack the player and never the tactic, that is an heresy. All in all …. yes, 3 points, not … “ a massive win “….. “ great result “….. no, just 3 points and the certainty of the next 14 games…. 10 of them make me cringe just to think….. because nothing changed in 3 games that a team who have quality players should win and convince, be tight, be badass. Let’s see and up the tigers. Wrath and fury against this post in 3……..2………1………
I know more about football than you lot because I was quite good when I was thirteen and play five a side.
Imagine how many points per win we are going to get when we start really dominating all the ****e inferior teams in the Championship. We’ll be overtaking Leicester in no time.
I've read it and reread it but can't see anywhere that he says Carvahlo is "a big tough centre forward".
How would you describe the archetypal 'no 9' exactly, especially as Carvalho is the epitome of a No 10 in style, positioning and build?
I don't think taking off Tufan for Coyle is random really? We've heard Giles isn't that great in defence, so bring on Coyle and allow Jacob to move over to the left, his more natural position. Can push Giles up a bit - and try and give more pace to a midfield that as the post above - was struggling a bit. I didn't see the game, so this is only my assumption of what happened - happy to be corrected - but it feels fairly standard to me.
Dont understand why we are still using petrol powered cars and have not gone electric but at least Jaden is using less gas
A no 9 is still a no 9. A 10 is still a 10, descriptively speaking. Mitrovic was a No 9 in the Fulham team he played in. In this team Delap and Ohio are our 9s with Tufan playing 'false 9' when needs must basically because he's the most physical of the remaining creative options. Fabio has generally excelled in the 10 role or out left in the championship. Describing him as a 9 is just laughable, Today, as well as 40 years ago.
Simple question are we getting carried away ? We have technically good players but don’t seem to have them ‘ on fire ‘ yet. I don’t see most of the team busting a gut to race forward and attack on the counter at best it’s one or two - but at times our neat interplay gets us out of sticky situations and is good to see.
Honest answer - we have the shiny new tools in the box, but a certain amount of sharpening and calibration is going to be required to perform optimally and that takes time.
