Been given authority is what you get after you have asserted leadership ability. I bemoaned our leadership deficiencies two Years ago and nothing has changed. I suppose addressing that was the job of the programme seller. All roads lead to Rome, sadly.
I think herein lies the problem, maybe/perhaps. What we see as short comings, I am sure are also seen and felt by members of the squad. So imagine Curtis Davies, he's just signed a new contract, for weeks he's been solid, he's scored when forwards couldn't. He has a mare against Derby, but knowing what little of the man that I have seen, he would be the first to walk into the dressing room and apologise. In any other team, the team would have rallied around and said, don't worry, we'll get it back. Instead, he's treat like some naughty schoolboy, slaughtered in public by his manager and then dropped, unlike others who as I have said others in the squad might feel should be dropped. Now what message does that send out to every other player. If I have a poor game I'm dropped? scared to make a mistake? It's happened to Hernandez also of course, Elmo and over the seasons many others, too many others. What happened to the I have faith in you approach of management, the same faith that the Allams are placing in this **** wit managing our football club.
You hit the nail on the head Tigress. We have no leader on the field (or on the sidelines). In addition to Bruce's tactical ineptitude, which has allowed teams far weaker than us in terms of the quality of their squads to take critical points (how many have we dropped against bottom third teams?) which if taken would have put us comfortably in line for automatic promotion, we have sold or given up on players who provided the fighting spirit that made us respected as "The Tigers" around the League...Macca, Rosenior, Brady, Quinniesta...come to mind. What a difference a fighter like Joey Barton (for all his attitudinal problems) could have made to our midfield and team spirit. ... Ash was the prototype of a leader. Now we have no one. Whoever the new manager is, and there will be one I'm sure, his priority, along with an effective striker, should be to remedy the lack of leadership.
Like I said on other thread today, I think SB could learn a thing or two from Claudio Ranieri's style of man management, was watching him being interviewed before today's PL game, like a breath of fresh air! He was asked what elements of his management style he has changed between Chelsea and Leicester Manager, the example he gave was how he deals with players who make mistakes in games, watch and learn SB!
Like him or loathe him Burnley have Joey Barton, Boro have Grant Leadbitter, we have nobody in a similar mould, and it has been sadly lacking for a long time, since Ash in fact, why are these issues never resolved?
Your right he was going ballistic at them, but they all seem to be looking at each other and didn't know what to do for the best. As it has been said we need a leader in Mid-field, Ash like, Livermore is the right type, but just doesn't take up the mantle.
I'm hardly the first to notice it, but I think Jake is just too in thrall to Hudds to be able to lead him into anything. Otherwise I agree he maybe could.
Did not really mean that although Walsh has done well. But at Leicester Raneri still seems to hold the title of manager, but, I guess its working there. To be clear: Appoint a Technical Director-not necessarily a ex pro footballer He hires a scouting staff and together as a team along with a coach they recruit and sell the players The TD appoints a technically astute Head Coach, again not necessarily a famous ex player-but one who knows how to coach and is familiar with all the modern methods of coaching, using data etc. The coach supervises training, decides on tactics and style and selects the team. The TD and the scouting staff have a more permanent feel and the coach less so. This allows the evolvement of tactics and styles of play to evolve rapidly along with an ever changing playing staff. And also to some extent avoids the new manager syndrome, "get rid of his guys and bring in some people I know".
without wanting to open up the `Huddlestone` debate again, when Thudd isn`t on the park Livermore is a better player, its almost as if he goes into his shell when Thudd is on the park. Having said that recent performances from Thudd have suggested at least he is trying to put a shift in, dilemma or what !
If it's one or the other, on current form, it's an easy choice. Other than the run of games immediately after his return, Jake has been **** pretty much ever since.
You could end up with a visit from OB yourself using offensive names about the disabled - Mods can we stop this jerk using this expression over and over again - it's nasty http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/a...ldminder-sacked-fat-perform-job-properly.html
