And I shall say it again, despite his goals, we do not play well when Jerome starts. Much more effective from the bench
Positives= Loza scored his 1st 8 minutes into stoppage time to salvage a point ,Redmond & Wes played well & we are in the play off spots scoring 2 from 2 shots. Negatives =Hooper is not playing well we had 2 shots on target ,all our competitors won and Ipswich are only 3 points behind us .
Do the match report next game!! Just a couple of lines would do, you don't need to go to town on it - WE NEED YOU FELLA!!!!!! Edit: apologies for that post last night chap, I only read your post properly this morning and hadn't seen the part about you losing your best mate. Really sorry to hear that fella, and I'm really sorry if what I posted seems heartless (which it does to me now I realise what else you had written). We could do with one of your match threads though if you could squeeze one in
Just got home after being out for the the evening and can't believe the negativity on here!!! I agree we've just dropped 4 points that we shouldn't have done (and yes, I was hoping for a comfortable win tonight!!!), but we were never going to win all of our remaining games, It will be interesting to see how the players pick themselves up for the visit of Forest on Saturday and it will be another tough game!! Might have to down the pub for the early kick off - Bournemouth V Middlesbrough!!!! Don't forget it's Wolves V Derby on Friday at 19.45 as well.
Just woke up to see the result and the late show from Loza - excellent for him to score at this time of the season. I think he will bag a few more for us before the fat lady sings. Some of the posts above smack of it being end of season already. Where were we 8 games ago? Where were our tractor driving cuzzins? There are still a lot of points to play for and more permutations than I care to think through at 6a.m. We are in the mix and it's exciting. Roll on the weekend, OTBC
It was strange match. Martin turned far too easily for the first goal and in no mans land for the second.
(1) what was Johnson thinking if that was his hand? I'd like to see that clearly (2) Martin really did have a shocker (3) how did Hooper miss that square ball from Howson? (4) how was that not offside in the build up to Vaughan's goal? (5) am I right in thinking they held a monster truck competition on the pitch before the match because the pitch looks shockingly cut up
I think that is the first time I have seen Loza. He's a pretty big unit, isn't he? Certainly looks like he has the strength to not be simply brushed aside by defenders.
Looked like he could have got his head to it, but who knows for sure. Two in a row. The football God works in mysterious ways sometimes, for sure I didn't see an offside? Recently ploughed for the summer potato harvest.
come on guys all is not lost, we can still nick second, if the cherries drop points (they are the only team with a massive goal difference) boro or watford could be toppled into second imo. I listened to the game via Norwichfirst ustream and seemed like another nervous performance like Derby with lots of huff and puff but no finesse. We seemed to have gotten into a nervous state and seemed hurried in front of goal, something An needs to address, if that means new competition by Loza for a first team spot then so be it ( i wouldnt be against him starting and might buck up hoopers form). We still have time, and lots of games between top teams, points will be dropped i am sure and we still have the easiest run in imo. If this is a our recent bad run, if another 8 wins comes these draws will seem like a blessing. All still to play for IMO.
I think I've got this right and we've dropped to 3rd, but still have the best GD. The biggest surprise to me is Derby and how much they miss Martin and Bent.
3:38 in the video - looks to me like Whittaker has moved back just in time (and remember it's the penultimate man that counts, so I can't see Ruddy, but if he's just over metre or so off his line then he'll be playing the Huddersfield player offside instead). Tbf, though, thinking about it with the linesman on the far side of the pitch that would be a seriously difficult one to spot and his view would probably be blocked by Ruddy.
Speaking for myself, it isn't negativism I'm feeling, but realism. We do still have a chance but it's less than it was before this match. We hoped, not unnaturally, that we would close the gap by beating Huddersfield, or at least keep it the same. Instead, it has stretched from 3 points to 5 points. That's not the end of the world, but it does mean that our task has become much harder. I appreciate your stats JR, but our last four matches are DDWL, which is hardly inspiring form for overtaking a 5 point deficit. With those above us facing challenging matches on Saturday, things could change in our favour again should we beat Forest, but if we don't, things will become tougher still. Let's hope it's the former and we close the gap.
Yes, we really do have to beat Forest to at the very least maintain the gap - if we drop any points on Saturday, then I feel our slim chance of making the autos is gone and we could even struggle to stay in the play-offs if other results go against us!!
1, Watched it a few times and appears his head is a foot short of making contact, so used his hand. 2, RyBen appears to be fully recovered, would like to see him replace Martin, who appears off the pace at the moment. 3, Hoopers grandmother would have scored that goal. 4, Certainly a case for offside from that camera angle. 5, Pitch is a throwback to the 60's, though they play Rugby league on it as well, which doesn't help.
