You know what? We won and got 3 valuable points. So maybe not the best performance but hey, 3 points is 3 points. No point carping on about if this was the best performance technically. Who cares? Every season towards the end we always have post mortems about points dropped earlier in the season, so lets get as many points on board early on ( it's still August ffs! ), and then tighten up as we move forward. Saying that, lets keep our key players if possible and of course, all posters on here are entitled to their own views...

When was the last time we won two away games on the trot?

Up here, they say "a holes, a hole - who cares what it looks like!" Same as "a wins a win - 3 points in the bag

If someone had said we'd get ten points in August, with our mix of freebies, league one players, youth teamers and those potentially on the move, I'd have told them to lay down in a darkened room.

It's a work in progress, it's being done the right way and it's one hell of a platform to, firstly, ensuring survival and then, just perhaps, seeing how high we can finish.

The performances should improve but there'll be some shocking games in there too.

Where we are in the league is remarkable so early into this new era.

I think that's overstating it a bit mate. We've just come down from the Prem and still have a squad that's worth more than most of the others in this league. If we were in this position without Phillips and Austin then I'd agree but I doubt any of the other Ch'ship sides are surprised to see ourselves and Hull in the top six.

(Plus, this league is utterly shyte )

Use catch-up, then you can speed through all the dross and adverts

It is a shockingly bad format though

Wouldn't it be good if there was a life catch up option. You could speed up through all the dross of work to home time, well depending on what your job is. Would not bother with is if my job was an astronaut or porn star...

Only another 40 odd points needed for survival. ......or another 80 points for automatic promotion. ...

Austin and Phillips cost less combined than Ross McCormack and were only playing in this league a little over one year ago.

In terms of how much our first eleven cost us, we're an average team, upper mid table at best.

I disagree Matty. I would say our squad would be one of the top ones money wise

Fair play, but more importantly are they one of the top talent wise?
