I think the side as a whole where guilty of complacency today, because Huddersfield are such a poor side on paper, we just assumed it was an easy 3 points, and it's backfired. A valuable lesson that you need to approach each PL game like a final if you want to stay at the top, no matter how good you believe you are. Where on earth we got that Vicor Lindelof prat from il never know, the first goal was bad enough, but the second was a joke if I'm honest. What sort of 40 million pound centre half is to scared to take the full impact of the ball on his head from a goal kick. You honestly couldn't make it up. I know we are still missing Rojo, and it'll help when he's back fit, but I think we need to start giving young Axel Tuanzebe some more opportunities, as he did well last season when he got his chance, and now seems to have been unfairly frozen out. Especially when you see the prat he's been frozen out for, to scared to header a ball away ffs. If Lindelof starts next week against Spurs, then I fear the worst. Kane and Erikson will have a field day.
We lost Fosu-Mensah to loan too. I always thought he looked decent even as center half when he got the chance last season. This is my pain with managers thinking spending is the only way to better a squad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Exactly developing the young players is often the best approach, especially when we have so many young talented players, who just need to be given a chance. That's the one thing I did like with LVG, he'd often show faith in a young academy player, over a mega money signing. Mourinho just can't bring himself to do it, unless it is in exceptional circumstances like a major injury crisis, the only reason Tuanzebe got a chance last year.
Got a dreadful feeling he will look to blame a player, Herrera obviously, and the whole Jose house of cards is about to be blown over. Spurs and Chelsea coming up. We going to play for a draw Jose? Best be careful, just in case they are good.
He's never really seemed to like Herrera who is probably the last player who could be accused of a lack of commitment.
Exactly. I think Tel said on another thread, Herrera gets United more than Mourinho ever will. If he does go after Herrera, it will only cause him problems. What he did to Schweinsteiger last year did him no favours at all.
Particularly as Barca are sniffing around him. He won't stay if he is sidelined and, at the moment, we don't have Pogba - or Fellaini for that matter, to replace him if JM drops him.
They are but Liverpool have been even worse than expected. Klopp has no excuse to still have a Sunday League defence. Should be bombed out if there's any hope of Ancelotti being stupid enough to go there.
If we play an open game against them, like Liverpool have, then we could be in trouble. So we'll be negative.
Funny how everyone now wants Harry Kane. It further illustrates why if you have good players from a young age, fkin play them!!! I hate the saying that a player is young at 19/20/21 and that they have time. Start playing them now. No one develops on the bench. They need to play persistently to get even better.
Well that was a **** weekend. We lose and all our rivals win. Need to batter the Swans midweek to get some confidence back before the games against Spurs and Chelsea, or we'll see another season fizzle out in the league early doors imo.
