    Maybe we'll do a Wigan.

    Still not bothered, would rather 3 points. I'd even settle for 1 <ok>

    I've just watched the highlights on ITV's website.

    Our goal was superb. Who says this Powell side can't play some decent football?

    Thanks for that.

    All I was doing was pointing out that Powell's side can play some decent football at times.

    At times, is the most frustrating of phrases and suggests that either we are so desperate for anything good that we condescend to approve what we should expect or are overreaching ourselves. I am not having me head turned by two insignificant performances and one decent goal.

    It boils my piss that we can play decent football and have a decent team, what we don't have is the points on the board to enjoy the decent football when it comes.

    We are in danger here of being relegated, we have a new board who are about as inspirational as a crap on a flowerbed and a manager who really has not got the goods to take us anywhere. Sorry, but the club is in a sorry state and no goals no matter how pretty will hide that.

    Just watched the highlights. I know you can only tell so much from them, but you can see that Ben Alnwick is a great find. Ticks all the boxes, might even be a late contender for POTY. Credit to Sir Chris for his success in the defensive department.

    Alnwick was definitely a good bit of business. Was very highly rated when younger, but lost his way at Sunderland. He appears to have matured and starting to fulfill that early potential where he was earmarked as a future England goalkeeper.

    <cheers>

    Can I firstly apologise for yesterday's temporary bout of amnesia (induced by too many Stellas in Wetherspoons...). I wrongly attributed our shameful relegation to League One to that Colussus amongst managerial pygmies... "Sir" Chris Powell. I realise that after such a transgression SCP deserves nothing less than full canonisation for lifting us from the depths of League One at the second attempt

    <sorry>

    I agree with FHB about Alnwick - he looks a real find. The acid test will come tomorrow night. Word is that Roly Poly has insisted that Thuram be picked for league fixtures.

    What would people think of that, then?

    Obviously I'd disagree with it, but I often do, which is why I post my predicted team now, not the team I'd like. In fact most posters used to post the team they'd like. In Powell we trust?
