The weekend kind of passed me by - but seems to be the same old thing of struggling to create? Did we put them under pressure at all?
Yes Super, we struggled to create anything all game. The typical 'hoof it to Kermorgant' tactics were still used, but to Hayes instead, who isn't very good with the ball at his head. We failed to create any chances really in open play and relied a lot on corners and a couple of free kicks. The last ten minutes or so we put on a lot of pressure, but to no avail.
WWOCB, very good & fair review of the match. Would still like to see the Waggy "incident" as I missed the actual tackle, or how the Huddersfield Examiner described it "a meaty first-half tackle on Scott Wagstaff". Hoping for a win on Saturday to stop the nerves getting to the team as badly as they are beginning to get to me.
Interesting how the media (sky and beeb) are both willing to carry CP's criticism of the fair play rule being abused by a referee but neither have the ability to show the challenge on Waggy that led to the criticism. If it is x rated and unsuitable for viewing by football fans they should state this. Presumably the FA have decided showing it would undermine the respect campaign.
