Ah sh1t. Not a good performance. 2 week break for SM to get their act together. May see Adams, Etete and Davies back in the fold then.
The players should offer to pay the travelling fans their money back as to a man they were shocking. As abject a performance one could imagine. The lack of ball control and inability to pass were staggeringly amateur. A poor Huddersfield team didn’t have to break sweat to gain the easiest 3 points they’ll get all season. The players and manager should hang their heads in shame.
Becoming convinced that Morison still doesn't know his best side nor setup. That may seem a bit harsh after just 10 games but he appears to have become a tinkerman for the sake of it. There was no reason not to start with the Harris/Robinson pairing after the success of the Boro game. Playing Robinson on his own was a bad move. There was no creative player prompting behind the widely spaced front 3 giving the side a disjointed look. Wintle and Rhino holding meant there was a gap that Huddersfield exploited. All in all, a poor show equally by management as well as the players. I'm all for changing it around if things aren't going well, but it looked as though everything Morison did was in panic rather than planned.
There’ll be inevitable question marks over Morison’s future if he continues to make tactical errors, and cannot consistently motivate his players. He got away with it 2nd half at Boro but not today. Even a draw would have been a poor result.
That was an easy away game you could get and we blew it. Useless. Huddersfield will be bottom 3. Will we be? Id take 4th bottom now We are uselessm worst squad since back at this level
Positional wise the table doesn't look great, however, we are still just 3 points off 8th place (ok, several goal swing needed too) so not all doom and gloom. Ifs buts and maybes, but if Robbo does tuck the penalty away then who knows what happens from there??? Curse my pre-match write up about our penalty in 23-24 now sounds like Robbo's effort was a mirror of Len Davies's.
This is exactly what he is doing, messing around for the sake of it. I`m fed up with his excuses, "Harris had a dead leg" ...he can`t start but comes on for the second half? Ten games in and we haven`t got a settled side. It is clear we have fast passing attacking players but again here we are plodding, why? At the start we showed real fight against Norwich and some brilliant football in some games. There is no excuse for this lame performance and if the manager can`t inspire the team I was wrong to trust him.
Steve Morison spoke to the press after the Bluebirds suffered a 1-0 loss to Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon. "We didn't start the game well, and then obviously grew into the game." Steve began. "We didn't make the most of our moments that we had, and we're disappointed with that. "We got one penalty, and should have scored that, and we should have had a second penalty. The second one is a stonewall penalty - it's in the box by a yard. But, we can't change it now. "It was a difficult one today, because we didn't know what they were going to do. They made a lot of changes - they changed their formation, and their style of play. "We had to freshen it up, and try to hurt them regardless of what shape it was on the turnover, which we did at times in the first half, after the first ten or fifteen minutes." please log in to view this image Morison continued by commenting on the substitutions made in the second half, which helped the Bluebirds control possession. He said: "We wanted to get another striker on, and we felt that with the way they were playing there would be a lot of second balls, so we wanted to get another midfielder into the middle. "Having Sparky on the bench, we had the ability to change, which we did. We went for it, threw a couple more up top, and dropped Callum O'Dowda back." On Callum Robinson, who saw his first half penalty saved, Steve added: "He'll be gutted, and he'll feel a sense of responsibility. He's a good player, and he'll be frustrated as much as anyone. I'm sure he'll score many goals when he gets the opportunities."
Have to wonder if the scheduling of 2 long away trips on the bounce didn't help our cause. Reading between the lines it sounds like a few of the team were not quite on it enough. Nkounkou as feared was shaky again. Simpson struggled it seems. We now have opportunity to work some more on the training ground and freshen things up again hopefully with Adams and Davies coming back into the squad. Would now like to see Bagan getting a chance ahead of Nkounkou and possibly even Sang given a chance. It sounds like he was tidy when he came on today.
The squad isnt good enough thats it. Whatever side we put out it will be a botton 6 type team. Huddersfield are abysmal We wont get an easier away fixture. But shocking defending and a complete lack of creative ability and no physical presence has somehow given them all 3 points. We will be bottom 6 , probably 1 place above todays opponents. I think that was the bottom 2 today Absolute garbage. Ng played well , Kipre ok thats about it.
