This season has been a bit unfair on the new boys. I'm not judging any player who comes into a side that doesn't know what its formation tactics or best starting 11 is. How can you?
I thought he played pretty well yesterday. Worked hard, got forward to support the attack and nearly scored himself. Not brilliant but gave more energy to the midfield I felt.
He’s actually the best player we’ve ever bought from Celtic, better than Hooiveld, Forster, Wanyama and Van Dijk put together...
He is a good link between the midfield and attack but he can only play in a five man midfield as he is not good enough defensively. Hence his lack of game time with the 4-4-2 formation being favoured.
I watched about 3 Celtic games the season before he signed and was always impressed by him. Thought he looked very tidy, he obviously had a slow start here and @Libby hated him because he didn't track back once but seems to have turned a corner and is doing well atm.
Watched the full match earlier. Armstrong was everywhere. Either helping in defence, backing up JWP against Zaha, or supporting Redmond in build-up play. Tbf, all the players had a very good game, even Vestergaard, who made a couple of errors, but when Palace went a bit more direct, he was under every ball. For me though, Bertrand, Redmond, Armstrong and JWP were oustanding.

I was a fan of what I saw from Armstrong last season, but when I actually praised him on here, was just before the Bompey home game, when he came on as sub and gave the ball away, which led to their equaliser. Then he got slated a bit and I kept quiet haha. So I'm glad to see he is finally getting some recognition. Quality player.
