If Fletcher and Altidore play there's no room for Sess.

I love him to bits but he's a luxury we can't afford, he can't play wide, his position is in the hole. His shooting leaves a lot to be desired, but he may be an impact player if we are up in a tight game, personally I would sell and use the money to strengthen.

Seems Sunderland fans are starting to fall out of love with Sess at this point.

I still think he is one of, if not the best player I have seen in a Sunderland shirt. However he is not the most effective player, he will struggle in a struggling side.

    That's why I said he's a luxury we can't afford.

This totally and use that money to recruit a decent striking option that actually looks like they might score.

Whilst Sess, is fast, is a good dribbler and can be creative, he is very inconsistent his final pass or shot is often very poor. Therefore I agree with you!

I would utilise him at another club.

One of the most skilful players I've seen at the SoL but he's a luxury.

If we are to keep him I would give him a free role just to wander wherever, maybe interchanging with AJ or the left wing. Difficult for defenders to mark and gives our wingers a bit of freedom.

I can't see it ending well. If he's not sold I can see him being benched when Fletcher is fit as I think PDC is a big fan of Altidore. How Sessegnon will respond to a spell on the bench is the question, will it spur him on or will he cop the hump?

he copped the hump at PSG when we was benched. then he refused to train with the team after falling out with the manager and forced his move to us.

If he doesn't up his consistency/effort, we could well see history repeat itself as far as he's concerned. I think he was tried in 3 different positions at PSG during his 3 year stint.....it's down to him to sort it out, otherwise we should sell and replace whilst we have time to do something.

That all very well and good but would you demand results from JoS if he was playing on the wing? You can't demand more from a player who's blatantly not cut out for the position. He isn't good enough striker to play as a striker, like Seb isn't a good enough CM to play CM. If Sess doesn't perform if he's dropped deeper or moved to left then I'll have problems with him, but as it stands with him playing where he's playing, people are asking him to be something he's not and I think its quite unreasonable.

That's the million pound question isn't it? It's definitely not off the front man, three managers have struggled to get a performance out him in that position. It's a waste of player. I'd like him to be played deeper either as an AM or cutting in from the left in Giacc's position and play Giacc as an AM. Drop him even and put a real CF on though I think we'd get murdered most games with just 4 in midfield. A CF he is not.

I've always thought he was better on the wing. With AJ and Giacc the wingers now he doesn't fit into my team.

It seems as if the majority of us have fallen out of love with Sess, it's a tough old road for him if he stays.

Therefore, the way I'd utilise him is by selling him. Qatar can have his presence for about 8mill. That's extra in the transfer kitty and some large wages off the books as well.

I agree, in my eyes his position is in the hole behind the striker but that relies on one of our middle two getting beyond him when we are attacking. In that formation we wouldn't get overrun in midfield but we would have to sacrifice a striker.

I suppose that's why I would reluctantly sell him because as I said before, he is a luxury that we can't afford.

Sess is not a winger and gets a strop on when he is asked to play there.

I was slated before the first game of the season for daring to suggest Sess should be dropped into midfield.

If he is to stay - on current performances - he should either be a sub or creative, jinky, middle of midfield passer for the forwards.
