Welcome to the dark side Hoopy To answer this it has to be a bit of both but largely I suspect to the boasts of having a team of "world class players" and "money is no object", European football was inevitable, easily be better than most other teams in the league etc. I do appreciate that having been in the wilderness for so many years it was all a bit too easy to get carried away but carried away doesn't even scratch the surface in a lot of cases. I would like to think a valuable lesson has been learned by both the club and supporters but who knows. If you go down, I suspect the expectancy levels will once again be astronomically high with nothing other that promotion as a given or even remotely considered by the majority, and you will be back to where you were August this year.
For me it's not about your club or supporters, certainly not those who didn't spout about us and Swansea being no hopers before a ball was kicked.I remember going to a Norwich -QPR game rather hoping you would win.it was the end of the 75-6 season and Rangers needed the points to win the old 1st division.Well we won and QPR missed out,I was always rather sad about that.
to be honest my dislike for QPR is fading fast. their fans were shouting themselves up and you can see why when you look at all the action which took place of the transfer period, they looked at chelsea, man city ect and thought they were the next big thing and were going to enjoy the ride while rubbing everyone elses nose it. the reason i feel for them now is that potentially imo its not just a fight to stay in the PL but one of survival. If or maybe when they drop how are they going to cope on the finiancial side of things, i really fear that the club may fold in a few years if they don't get any luck. As for Norwich and Swansea what can i say, onwards and upwards ....one step at a time don't want to see any of us trip up and not be able to get back up again
Very good point Brecon. We're both in respectable positions and let's just hope that we can avoid long term injuries to key players.
In which case all the fans bragging about their big-name filled squad () haven't thought it hrough properly. If they want to sail that close to the wind and splash money around like confetti, let them - but don't feel sorry for them if/when it all goes tits up
Only one player I would take from QPR and thats Jamie Mackie. Just a faster, stronger, younger version of holt. Works so hard in every game.
Me to. He looks to be the only one who actually gives a damn and fights in every game. I rated Hoilett before QPR but now he looks dross. This episode is not doing any of the players reputations any favours.
We're not relegated yet so hold your horses. We never do things the easy way but its only 7 points to make up not 70.
You have played west ham, Southampton, reading and villa all at home! Picked up 0 wins and just 2 points. You haven't won away in over a year and your team is tripe. How in gods name do you expect to survive? Can you really see yourselves winning against any of the named teams away? Face it, your down. Wigan will hammer the final nail into your coffin this weekend when you set an all new premier league record. Congrats.
I think Swansea are certain to survive, and I'm glad as long as it isn't at our expense. You play nice football, you've approached the Prem in the right way, and you made a brave choice of a new manager. As for us, I'm less certain although obviously much more hopeful after the last few weeks. If we can beat Wigan next week, and get at least something from either the Swans or WBA game, I'll start to relax a little.
Come on lads, there's no way Norwich will go down you're way too good for that and for what it's worth not one Swans fan would want you to go down either. Cheer up and don't be so pessimistic it could be worse you could be QPR fans
