    His current team, Palermo, were pitted against Lecce last year.

    Lecce was Miccoli's beloved hometown club; apparently the night before the match he'd been journeying around the town (Lecce), meeting with locals and the media was speculating as to whether he'd start as he hated lining up against them.

    But overcoming his personal feelings he took to the field against them and while Palermo were 1 nil down, Miccoli scored a great free kick to equalise. But afterwards he wasn't happy. He got teary and looked very distraught and at half time was so sad at scoring against his beloved Lecce he had to be subbed off.

    A bit over the top, but in today's world of mercenaries it's quite a nice story.

    I love him for the reason that he is a loyal player but also because he is fantastic, although sometimes he tries a little too much:
