Get rid of excessive tv money. Drop your Sky sports etc. Rooney on 300k a week ....ing madness. Extra fans by dropping ticket prices. 50000 at Man ure could have £5 a head discount and Rooney could still piss. 50k a week. Better atmosphere then, free to stand and sing. Instant video and instant red card for proven diving.
Flood grassroots footy with money saved. Develop 1000s of extra players, get rid of the need for foreigners. England to actually then impress and feckin win further driving interest in football. Make earning 5k a week something special.
You can't surely really believe that?! Diving/simulation...all seater stadiums...social engineering of the "fans"...trying to get players sent off by waving imaginary cards...money going out of the game to agents instead of grass roots development...games getting moved to random times in the week, with very little notice...over excessive policing/stewarding...etc etc Cheaper would be nice, but there is a lot more wrong than that
I was referring only to the rules of the game, in response to the OP's suggestions about bigger goals, sin bins etc. I'd definitely like to see more retrospective punishments for cheating.
Ah Rooney, all that money yet still needs to take a whole load of stuff from the NIKE hospitality suite at Wembley. ( allegedly )
My point was that the game itself isn't the problem, paying to watch it is. I'm sorry if you're not happy with my response, feel free to ignore it if it offends you.
...and relax! my point was that I agree there is nothing wrong with the rules of the game, but I just think there is more wrong with what surrounds the game than just what it costs.
I thought we were brain storming? There are no bad ideas when your brain storming....bizarrely I do think it would lead to more attacking football though and less shutting up shop...I also thought it up on the spare of the moment so don;t think too deeply about it.
I just dont like it that much anymore. Dont think anythings going to change to make me like it either. I used to really enjoy CL football on the Tuesday or Wednesday dont watch it now. Got rid of Sky. Rarely stream them. Flick through MOTD. Even watching our Ressies, which I've started to do a lot, is a bit ****. Both sides, not just ours. Its robotic. I dont think I've seen a single player do a stepover or an outrageous bit of skill. Watched a Parks game on Saturday for half an hour and was really enjoying it. Seeing lads playing jsut for the fun. Plenty of effort, **** ups and swearing. This is great. Then one of the ****s dived... Just **** off.
Brain storming? Brain storming? Have you no empathetic feeling for the epileptially challenged? In our modern, warm fuzzy world we don't need these harsh cold pricklies implicitly criticising our disabilities. Try 'thought shower'. It's much more politically correct.
You realise this is bringing back memories which are better left buried deep and unremembered? The folly of youth and easy access to videos whilst in Germany.
1. Get rid of FIFA 2. Introduce TV reviews, max 2 appeals per game for each team, to resolve penalty/off-side/diving etc. An additional review meeting by the appeals committee to look at any significant bad decisions/behaviour with a maximum of 10 reviews per team per season to keep it under control and the ability to retrospectively send people off, ban them, or revoke sending off/bookings. 3. Mandatory re-allocation of 10% of all TV revenue for clubs to subsidise the cost of match tickets for under 16s to encourage supporters of the future + other 'grass root' schemes to develop domestic talent. Apply the rule across UK clubs so players wages will have to fall in relation to TV revenue, this way lower league clubs/players will be less affected. Any player wishing to go to European clubs for higher wages can duly **** off.
Womens football is a great antidote to the mens game and all the cheating diving bullshit that goes on now, like a few others have said I am disillusioned with the mens game, I enjoy my trips to the KC and following us but am struggling to watch other matches now even England
Ban all live televised games except the FA Cup Final and England Internationals. If you want to see live football you go to a football ground or the park. Sit where you like in the ground, meaning no reserved seating and £20 maximum across the board, £1 for under 14's. Clubs allowed to reintroduce terracing if they want. Kick off times would be 3.00 pm on a Saturday, 7.45pm mid week, or on the odd exception 4.00pm on a Sunday afternoon. ....
20/20 cricket is what you do after work before you go to the pub. Having highly paid professionals playing World Cups for it devalues the game. like several others have said, all that really needs to be done to football is reduce the cost of going to matches.
