Worse still, he supports the mackems I recall him singing that song when we got relegated. He'd get lynched.
Apart from the bit about having no tactical plan. You might not agree with it but to suggest he doesn't have a tactical plan is ridiculous.
At home I can honestly say I have no idea what it is. At least last year he had a plan, however negative I thought it was. I can’t remember watching our team at home looking so poorly coached.
I can't be arsed thinking too much about football at the moment. This whole saga has drained me. With work I probably only get to 2/3 of the home games at best now so I am considering letting my ST's go and investing the money in going to more away games instead. Most are down south (where I work) so it's much easier to get to them.
Talksport have said that we've made a £30m profit on transfers over the last 10 January transfer windows. We SELL in January. Don't often buy much.
Yeah but Spurs have made 18m in profit since 2012. They've spent all that time in the top 8. I don't think looking at net spends is entirely accurate. If you look at budgets afforded on a summer window basis, Rafa has had 104m over the two summers in charge. Its not that bad really even allowing for having to buy a lot of players after we came down. There were 8 clubs with a worse net spend than us in the summer alone.
Simply looking at gross spend doesn’t give an accurate picture either. Not arguing against what Spurs have done as save for Sissoko they buy very well and sell very well and should be what we are aiming for. To ignore what Rafa had to do in building a team and a squad for the Championship and then to do the same for the PL does your arguement a disservice as it ignores the reality of what occurred.
Not at all I acknowledge it. However there comes a point where you have to concede somewhat, Rafa hasn’t had that rough a ride. There is some balance to the task Rafa had which pro Rafa fans prefer to forget. We amassed a huge sum of money from 6 sales which undoubtedly skews any net spend figures. There is value in both arguments in my opinion. First people want to talk net spend. So 8 managers had it tougher this summer. That’s an uncomfortable fact for some. I personally think he overspent to get out of the championship. He bought players who never saw the light of day like Hanley, Lazaar, Sels etc. Hughton and Wagner have basically operated under similar constraints but got up and kept their funds for this season. Rafa has more quality than them at the start of last season, but not the quantity. Then you look at actual spend taking out recouped. He has spent more in two seasons than any Newcastle manager I can remember in the same time frame. This is balanced by the fact fees have gone up so it’s natural spend goes up. I just think overall the club is being done a disservice and hit with a stick somewhat unfairly. They’ve done what they can for him. It’s not enough but I have to say he hasn’t used the money he has had wisely. It’s easy to blame Charnley and Ashley, there is no doubt they must carry some responsibility. However to just give Rafa a free ride is completely false and misleading. I think fans are blinded by some hero worship mentality which is completely misplaced.
There is no way back for Ashley [if there ever was.] If Rafa walks out there will be absolute hell on. He doesn't want to own the club. Instead of being a stubborn fat ****, he should sell the ****ing thing. Clean break. Take the money and run.
On BBC radio 5 live today they quoted a Times article that claims that if Rafa leaves his contract before the final 12 months, then he'd owe Ashley £6m. So he can't do a thing if Ashley gives him nothing this month. Anyone heard that?
net spend ....... gross spend .........blah, blah ............... the fact is that we have, by and large, bought ****e recently.
