On an emotional level I agree , but is it like That ? Maybe ,just maybeMP can turn him around . Anyway it's a mess ,and I am off to bed .
Think it proves the strength of feeling. Maybe Shaw's first exposure to a proper full on training ground bust up, so he maybe more shocked than some older players. Not exactly the days of when Terry Paine used to take lippy players into a locked room at the Dell and beat them up (partly to see if they would "fit in" with the team), but I expect most bust ups these days are handbags.
I don't disagree with everything anyone says, but I do tend to take a sceptical approach with people who proclaim their opinions as fact and claim to be "in the know". You might be right in everything you say but I'd rather be circumspect until more accounts (and frankly, more reliable accounts) come to light. Few of the facts of this case are established, so we're all entitled to question your pronouncements.
This tempted me to look at Saintsweb. People are suggesting we could get relegated this season. Bizarre!
It's not that you argue it's what you argue over. You choose to go off on one over me saying beating up.
"Go off on one" is another example of the kind of exaggeration than I objected to. There are conflicting reports about what happened and "beating up" makes it sound more like he had seven shades of **** knocked out of him. I think the consensus is that he is not seriously injured, so I find this kind of inflammatory language odd. I was one of the first to condemn Osvaldo after the Newcastle incident and had a lot of people question me when I said he was an idiot for getting involved, so I'm not saying you're definitely wrong or that Osvaldo is untouchable, just that a bit balance is required, and people who for example jump in straight away and say he can never play for us again run the risk of embarrassment.
If we lose 1 pl match because fonte is not 100% then the gamble that didn't pay off turns into a massive mistake.
As I say, few of the facts are well established but I feel pretty safe in assuring you that Fonte is not going to miss any premier league games because of this.
I voted "get rid." Knew he was a gamble going in, but thought it was worth a shot because the MP connection. I suppose I also didn't figure on him going *this* batshit insane. His attitude on the pitch hasn't been great at times even when he manages to stay on it. There were two games where I thought his temper was getting the best of him and while he didn't do anything violent, his head wasn't in the match. I suspect I'm alone on this one but I think MP's got some serious explaining to do as well. Not saying I would fire him (yet), but his staff and players got in a fight, he complained about the refs publicly, got into a silly spat over the Lallana thing, and he appealed Osvaldo's ban. Have to question whether he is setting the right tone as manager.
Yes I know, not the point though. He has been OK so far but hasn't set the world on fire. What I don't understand is why Fonte didn't smash him into the ground like a little bearded tent peg? Fonte is a beast.
I think he could be a success in the Premier League given time but I say get rid! No room for anyone who don't want to act like a team and we will replace him.
Bring in someone who has that desire and wants to succeed at top level. Scouting around in the Championship maybe wouldn't be a bad shout.
